Decades ago, nurses were always women. They provided a good source of wives for male doctors. Times have changed and nurses are no longer needed.

Thank you for replying to my post.
The thing is that anyone who believed prayer was effective would have prayed before the storm and been unaffected. This is brought out in Post #18 where Texas Trollop wrote:
Please do not get confused! Texas, particularly the area's hardest hit by hurricane Harvey needs donations, volunteers, and prayers.
This is classic ‘‘Pray after the event that would have been averted if you'd prayed before’’ mentality. Now of course, in His wisdom, through this experience God has led many souls to be redeemed from wickedness. Exactly what depravity brought down this hurricane I have no idea and clearly those who believed in prayer—and who did the right thing by praying before the catastrophe—were delivered by God; those who did not believe were smitten and those whom He smote had an opportunity to repent in the light of their new experience.
.
.Ezekiel 34:15 I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord GOD.
There have always been two types, even after The Flood when Shem & Japheth [TYPE 1] walked backwards towards their righteous father who was lounging around drunk in the nude whilst vile Ham [TYPE 2] did something rather different. These distinct characteristics persisted.
.
.Ezekiel 34:17b 18 20 21a [God continues] Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the he goats. Seemeth it a small thing unto you to have eaten up the good pasture, but ye must tread down with your feet the residue of your pastures? and to have drunk of the deep waters, but ye must foul the residue with your feet?
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD unto them; Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat cattle and between the lean cattle. Because ye have thrust with side and with shoulder, and pushed all the diseased with your horns
Why, exactly, if there's fungus and excreta everywhere people would not clean it up or at least go and live somewhere else is beyond me. It's like those children who have to walk 10 miles every day to get a bucket of water: they obviously know where the water is, why don't they move their hut there? Personally I'd rather live in a hole in the ground near the river than dwell several hours away in a hut with NO water. But that's just me I suppose. Actually, African huts are very comfortable, designed for the environment they're in, air conditioning + carpets are a plus, sure, even if sand gets in the pile but alternatives are available. The last one I stayed in was handy to a cocktail bar "island" in a swimming pool where not everyone behaved well I must say, lounging around on mushroom shaped ottomans. I didn't like it so I left and went for a drive to look at some giraffe. But the principle is the same whether in Africa or Texas; rejecting God then pretending to be the right type of cattle after the event never fooled anyone. Those who turn to Him will be Saved and for them our prayers will be answered.
.
.Ezekiel 34:15 Therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle.
Thank you Jesus.

Nursing education does not follow a straight line from simple to complex. From the earliest weeks of a program, students are introduced to ideas and clinical scenarios that demand sophisticated thinking, ethical reasoning, and the ability to hold multiple competing considerations in mind simultaneously. But there are particular moments in every nursing program where the demands shift noticeably, where the expectations expand and the intellectual terrain becomes genuinely unfamiliar. These are the moments that separate students who merely complete their programs from students who are genuinely transformed by them. They are also the moments when having the right academic support makes the most profound difference in a student's ability to produce work that reflects their true capabilities and to emerge from the experience with lasting competence and confidence.
Two of the most demanding subject areas in contemporary nursing education etc etc

There is a particular kind of courage required to return to school after years of professional practice. For healthcare professionals who have spent their careers in demanding clinical, administrative, or leadership roles, the decision to pursue advanced academic credentials represents a genuine act of professional faith, a belief that the knowledge and perspective they will gain through further study will ultimately serve their patients, their teams, and their field in ways that their current expertise alone cannot. This is not a decision made lightly. It is typically the result of years of reflection, of watching systems fail where better leadership and scholarly preparation might have helped, of recognizing that the most persistent problems in healthcare require the kind of rigorous, evidence-informed analysis that doctoral-level education is designed to develop. The commitment is real, and it deserves to be honored with the most effective possible support.
Yet the practical challenges of advanced online education, etc, etc

The decision to pursue doctoral-level nursing education is one of the most significant professional commitments a nurse can make. It signals not just a desire for advanced credentials but a genuine investment in the future of the profession, a willingness to engage with nursing science at its deepest level and to contribute meaningfully to the body of knowledge that shapes clinical practice, healthcare policy, and patient outcomes for generations to come. Doctoral nursing students are not students in the conventional sense. They are practicing professionals, often with decades of clinical experience, who have returned to formal education because they understand that the challenges facing healthcare today demand a new generation of scholarly nurse leaders. They bring with them an extraordinary depth of practical wisdom. What the doctoral program asks them to develop is the scholarly infrastructure to translate that wisdom into rigorous, defensible, publishable knowledge.
This is a profound undertaking, etc, etc

Re: September 3, 2017, is the National Day of Prayer for the Victims of Hurricane Harvey
No they don't. You just said that other people got flooded because you prayed so you weren't flooded. That means these other people deserved to get their homes flooded and their possessions destroyed. That means God wanted their possessions destroyed. Why should I do against God's Will and donate for them to replace what God Himself destroyed?Originally posted by TexasTiger View PostI did not deny that they need prayer, they need donations as well,
Well, if your husband is so smart, let him answer the question I posed above.Originally posted by TexasTiger View PostMy husband read over everything that was written and told me I had to excuse myself from this. He said we all need some discipline, and that he prays your husbands discipline you good for trying to think and comprehend things that are beyond our comprehension. I must go receive my discipline for pointlessly arguing with pointless women. I am also not allowed to read nor comment anything written by a woman on this site because women are stupid and mindless. I don't believe you. I think you're offering a ridiculous excuse because you're embarrassed. The God you worship is one of your imagination, not of the Holy Bible.Originally posted by TexasTiger View PostMy husband read over everything that was written and told me I had to excuse myself from this. Calm down, take a deep breath. We can help.

Which is it? He can help but isn't, or He can help but won't? Or He needs help to help? Which god do you worship?Originally posted by TexasTiger View PostHow did you get that I don't believe God is who He says He is?

Re: September 3, 2017, is the National Day of Prayer for the Victims of Hurricane Harvey
I did not deny that they need prayer, they need donations as well, and like I said before if you can't give volunteer time or donations because you are unable to, or because it isn't in you to, and prayers are the only thing you are able offer, that is magnificent as well! Thank you for praying for Houston and it's surrounding areas. God Bless!Originally posted by Basilissa View PostOh. So basically what you said is, that the people whose homes were damaged deserved it because they didn't pray hard enough (or worse even, not at all). It was all God's Wrath against the sinners.
Which reinforces my original statement that all Texas needs is prayer, not donations. Only prayer can turn hearts of these sinners whose homes were damaged, to God.

How did you get that I don't believe God is who He says He is? All my posts are quite the opposite. God has been a magnificent and glorious God before this ordeal, during, and continues to be after.Originally posted by Mary Etheldreda View PostThen you're not paying attention to what's happening around you. How interesting that for you Jesus works precisely the way an organization would operate without the supernatural influence of Jesus. When things work out, you can say your prayers worked. When things don't, you can say they're working out in a different way. How very convenient for you own sense of emotional security, but what you're talking about is functionally no different from a world without a God. I prayed constantly day and night for my home, as well as the homes of my neighbors, we live near a creek that overflooded, I was certain my home would surely flood, but it didn't because of the power of prayer! While they got minimal damage, and I received none, the ridiculously bigger homes across the city received several feet of water in their homes yet there is no creek nearby! I believe God redirected the water to that side of town while sparing me and those around me. Not to mention that in the coastal bend of Texas the
hardest hit area is Harris county, a notoriously blue county. Wonder if that has anything to do with it?

I certainly believe these items were prayed for and received, and simply directed to the appropriate department for collection and future distribution.

Prayers were prayed for relief and the prayers were answered. I am simply saying some un-reputable media sites misconstrued the redirection of much appreciated donations to the appropriate locale as flat out denying them.
