A prayer of thanks to Him

A wonderful cause for thanksgiving among the congregation this week: the miracle of healing. One of the senior gentlemen has been afforded more time to escape the clutches of Rome because The LORD delighteth in mercy and, who knows? there could be such a valuable witness right now being prepared by God.

I am at a Catholic hospital lobby while my dad is being seen. I need you to pray that this is the moment God decides to judge his papist ways.

Father fully recovered and is out on his ATV riding through the back yard like a 15 yr old.

Philippians 2:27

For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him;
and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.


Reading Genesis this morning I understood that God has no truck with ageism. Abraham was firing on all cylinders at 100 and Moses' eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated at 120.

The love of Jesus is sufficient celebration for me as it is for everyone giving thanks in prayer and on the occasion of this miracle for such a gentleman it reminds me that, how often feeling unloved or neglected, a visit to one of the luxury retail facilities can remind one that not everyone feels so under the weather. Clearly in this case as God allows time for His ministry to reach an errant papist those particular storm clouds have passed and, perhaps over coffee and a nice cake or pie or while window-shopping in a discreet arcade, an opportunity for Christian witness would arise.


Perhaps if Brother Larry could suggest this to his old dad, a door may be opened just when all the windows seemed to be closing? God is not only merciful but kind. From one of the loveliest Psalms, a celebration of His love and preparedness to save:

Psalm 40:8-11

I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest. I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation. Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.

What a simply thoughtful sentiment, Sister Mitza. The level of my gratitude for my wealthy father’s recovery is impossible to put into words even though I was certain this was the perfect time for him to die. Yeah, I just can’t thank Basilissa for her True Christian (tm) prayer adequately. Uh huh. Glory.

Psalms often exceed mere words in moments of uncertainty. Your commitment to His assurances encourage wavering souls torn hither and thither to trust His light where otherwise there'd only be shadows.

James 1:17-18
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above
and cometh down from the Father of lights with whom is
no variableness neither shadow of turning. Of his own will
begat he us with the word of truth that we should be
a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Just think what would have happened if that pilot had been tried in darkness? I'm more than happy to accompany your lively progenitor in the word of truth which cometh down by his own will and to direct him away from frivolous purchases such as of lesser metals or semiprecious stones that I know would not interest you.
