Did he grovel and beg for his job back? No. To be honest, I'm not sure how much I'd respect someone who would grovel and beg for a part-time minimum-wage position with no benefits. He could do better financially as a greeter at Wal-Mart (with only occasional risk of trampling as the down side), so he obviously is very committed to working for the church.
So, yes and no.
