If you suppress and never engage with your sexual preference you are still "gay", but can be saved as you don't commit a sin in the eyes of God (Bible).

But how do you know that your preference is sodomy unless you feel lust?

It is an abomination to have the sex, and it is a sin to be effeminate. This rules out lusting for gay sex and lusting for a man in the way a woman does. You can still be "gay" and not do any of these things as I have explained.

The some gays don't actively chose to be fags, much like the cancer patient doesn't choose to have the cancer. Maybe they were put/unwittingly put themselves in carcinogenic situations, or fagoinogenic situations in this case? (returning to left eye analogy) In this way they can lose their proverbial left eye this way, and this way can proverbially forget about it.
