You think it was the Syrians, Sister? If only W. had been allowed to remain President for Life Until the Rapture, their God-forsaken country wouldn't even exist any more.

Well I don't have any opinion on the matter. Assad and Saddam were in cahoots.

        God bless
Yes, that's nice. But if your god intends to strike a man down, who are you to try and keep him among the living. This isn't a matter of a suicide attempt or intentionally reckless behavior on the part of George W. Bush. If your god wants him to live to spread the "Good News" (although I have never heard of GWB evangelizing) or wants him to die, what value is your prayers? Yahweh is going to do what Yahweh is going to do regardless of your prayers.

Maybe you never visit the page, www.Christianpost.com. Just about everyday there is a story there about someone who was healed or saved from death in some way because Jesus came to his rescue after prayer.

A little effort from you to educate yourself on such matters would make you look at least somewhat informed.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

What makes you think anyone's prayers have anything to do with rather your god wants them to live or not. The point I was making was that if your god wants someone to live they would live. If your god wanted them to die they would die. No amount of prayer on your part would make any difference. Therefore a person on the brink of death would have pulled through and survived with or without your prayers if Yahweh desired them to live.

              You talk like a Jesuit.

Hell awaits unredeemed sinners. Seek Jesus or burn forever in the unquenchable fires of Hell. Don't go there; it's too hot.

Please tell us what part of the Bible are you quoting here???

Absolutely, Felicity. However Jesus and I are concerned that he might rape someone, and Heaven just wouldn't be the same with a bunch of rapists running around ripping our rectums open with their calloused genitalia.

I was not quoting the Bible. It just seems to me that an infinite omniscient god would know better than a finite man. And therefore, would have a degree of foresight making any suggestions by mere mortal men pointless and downright insulting. Forgive me for not simply accepting the biblical accountings which make it crystal clear that the Semitic war god, Yahweh, is not omniscient and is definitely prone to making mistakes.

I can really feel the struggle you are having in understanding all of this. Your problem is you are not differentiating between your own opinion and objective facts. First, you admit your views are not sourced from the source of all truth, the Bible. This puts you on a path toward defeat in an argument from the get go.

Second, you make an arbitrary assumption God makes mistakes. He does no such thing. It's clear you need to spend several hours listening to Pastor Zeke's sermons.

Well, of course the view that Yahweh is omniscient isn't Biblically accurate. I now see the error in that assertion.

Even when Yahweh claims he created man in error in Genesis 6:6?

He later changes his mind (kind of) in Genesis 8:21 and goes on to question his own motives for initiating the Great Flood. Essentially concluding that it was kind of silly to wipe out all life on the Earth for man's indiscretions seeing as man's behavior plays out in exactly the manner he created them to be from birth.

What about Exodus 32:10-14 in which Yahweh forgets his own covenant and almost annihilates the Israelites until Moses talks him out of it?

Or 1 Samuel 15:10-11 where Yahweh admits he made a mistake in giving Saul kingship?

You say Yahweh makes no mistakes, but when I take your advice and stick to scripture the Bible seems to imply just that. Kind sir, please help me understand.

Lone Jack--I'm praying for you. I'm hoping you eventually master the Bible and what it teaches us.

As to all those events you call "mistakes", they were nothing of the kind. They were opportunities for God. Look at us now after God has taken advantage of those opportunities--we have Landover Baptist Church filled with the saved and sinless.
