Ah Zeke, you've always been a hopeless romantic!

I remember when I was courting Mrs. Fore, we went to the Fourth of July picnic together with my mother and father, and out of the checklist of good wife traits he had made, she excelled in all of them! We knew she was the one for me by the way she carried the ice chest without complaint, by the way she kept her mouth shut unless spoken to, and by the way she didn't even cry or scream when me and my father punched her in the ribs for putting pickles on my hamburger! Ah, young love!

Well at least she took it in a dignified way. So I went out with my girlfriend today and asked her to clean my toilet citing that she should start practicing getting ready to serve me. At first she said no way but I told her there would be consequences if she did not do it. She hesitated but eventually cleaned the toilet and very well. However I still told her father about what happened today, he told me "he would take care of her." He then called me back about an hour later and told me she would be coming over tomorrow morning to make me breakfast and clean my apartment.

^Yeah glad I found this place for guidance I have to be honest I was a wimp with her she kind of walked all over me until earlier today and now she's making me breakfast? It's almost hard to believe.

As the Bible says, women are technically not human subject to their husbands. That of course is subject for another thread. I suppose in a very loose sense it might be animal cruelty.

However, I still suggest women are not any less than males. If they are an animal were are two, because we are the same species. Thus being equal we you cannot beat her. Like I have said, lead by reason, not violence. Violence is what rules the animal kingdom. And if you are all so above women then why not above violence

Now to avoid "yeah but that's the Old Testament" remarks, please explain why the following would not mean that your wife is something that you own and can sell:

But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

Matthew 18:25 refers to being sold into slavery. Witch now is considered socially unacceptable. However aside from that, saying that is what god wants. It refers to both being sold into slavery. It does not make man better than wife.

As for the other quote. There is not much to say. Accept. That god in the old testament is depicted as wrathful judge. Much of that anger, wrath and is considered to have subsided after during the new testament when god takes on the god the father role and after the Convanant.

Ehm... are you saying that we should only do God's work if it is "socially acceptable"? So, if, let's say, praying becomes socially unacceptable, we just stop doing it? Tithing, just forget about it? Who defines the "socially acceptable" you speak of?

I see: The Lord is into role-playing. He used to be a bit of an angry God, then calmed down, and decided to become Bill Cosby. Right, I can see it now. And because of that, we can toss the Old Testament aside like a used sock. Excellent.

To be honest friend, all this leaves you with a very thin layer of belief, and your "god" would be a very weak kind of "god". You might as well call yourself an agnostic or even an atheist.

We follow the whole Bible friend, as we have told you before. Not the bits and pieces the UN likes, but every bit. Is God socially unacceptable? Well, in many ways, I guess He is. Smiting or drowining every creature on earth, turning people into salt pillars, all very "socially unacceptable" these days wouldn't you say? Ophrah wouldn't approve.

Now on to another question: do you believe Revelation, or do you think that Jesus - sword sticking out of his mouth, ready to kill one third of the earth - is just hanging around, muttering "Blimey, can't do that now, wouldn't be socially acceptable now would it." ? So my girlfriend was over my place yesterday and she tried to tempt me into having sex I lost it and gave her a backhand. I know it is really her father's face (whom she still lives with) but it frightened and disturbed me that she would try that especially after I told her not to come onto me.
