      So would you hurt yourself?

That doesn't make sense, dear. Jesus Himself taught us how He wants discipline to work. As Christ is the head of man, the husband is the head of the family. The Lord Almighty Himself gives us a perfect means by which we can earn His love, and that includes disciplining those who are rebellious (Deuteronomy 8:5; Proverbs 3:11 -12; Hebrews 12:6 -7). There is no love in letting rebellion stand.

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

I am aware that this is a fairly old post, but certainly not so old that it would now be justified!

A woman is not a man's property, and would NEVER deserve to be punished for questioning what her husband says!

I am happy for your wife, and I am sure that the only reason she took the children is so they will not have to be raised in an environment where they are beaten and taught false information.

People like you make me lose hope in humanity.

Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

Exodus 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Genesis makes it perfectly clear that men are to rule over women, and as the wife was included among a list of possessions in Exodus, only a God mocking fool would deny that women are property. So who am I going to believe, an idiot who apparently has never read the Bible, or God? I'll give you three guesses.

Re: I hit my wife for the first time

Beating one's wife is the glue that keeps a marriage from unraveling... but after many years of such discipline, it can become just another dull routine. The husband no longer feels the delicious wrath of God pounding through his veins when he righteously pummels her, and she no longer has that precious bewildered and questioning look in her eyes that says, "how have I offended thee, m'lord, and how may I remedy this transgression?".

Brothers, if you want to freshen up a marriage that has become stale, try hitting her again for the first time! Add a little spice to those mediocre, unsatisfying attitude adjustment sessions with a couple of these babies:

                          Just like a second honeymoon!
