  • An Objective Review of the Film, Nomadland

This film is about the popular trend in the U.S. of abandoning your house or apartment and moving into a van. You then drive the van around the country and sleep free in parks and on federal land.

The guru of this practice is named Bob Wells. He claims that when one works to earn money the culture causes you to spend all of it and get nowhere. Living free out in the desert means you don't spend money.

Don't watch this film. It is about sin, not saving money. Once you move away from the watchful eyes of your neighborhood, church members and pastor you will think your sinful behavior will not be seen. Jesus, of course, will be watching your sex with other van dwellers as well as your desert masturbation.

Living in a van in the desert also makes it hard to attend church. Don't think a preacher is going to stand out among the snakes and spiders just to save your soul. You need to be in a church.

    This film should be banned.

Real-life nomad Bob Wells says the life you've been told to want is 'one great, big, enormous lie' | CBC Radio

Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

Those people seem to want all the benefits and none of the responsibilities. If you want a roof over your head and food on your plate, well then you need to carry some of the load of the job creators who gave you that. If you are given the right and privilege to work for $7.25, you need to put in the dedication of an Olympic althlete to make $8.25. Think of how hard the CEO making $30m/year must be working - or the real estate guy who now sells motivational books - they should be your hero, not some workshy hippy.

Dear oh dear, it's been a while since I've seen quite such a tragic neckbeard. It reminds me of the sad losers with "jobs in IT" (aka supermarket checkout clerks) who used to infest these forums.

No wonder he can't get a job or a wife and has to live in a trailer.

Yes he's not fooling anybody hiding that weak chin and pencil neck, especially not potential mating partners. This is what a champion should look like, someone who would sire your progeny, run a business and be the President all at the same time. Can you even imagine the hippy Commander in Chief invading Iraq for a 3rd time? Impossible.

I was disappointed to see the main real character played by Frances McDormand. This woman play "Marge" in the movie Fargo. In that movie she was a strong sheriff. Why would she now play a loser sleeping in a van? I think it will hurt her career.

But Brother Mr Mayor, Sir, a woman sheriff? I mean, I know the Fargo in one of the Dakotas (they are indistinguishable to me) has had some pretty dubious people in public office, but surely never a woman?

Maybe this guy thinks that by wandering around the desert Satan will come and offer him all the kingdoms of the earth (must be a Democrat).

Jesus also notices when you spill your seed in the desert.

brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.

Yes and weeps as he wipes up millions of tiny lost souls in a wet rag and rinses them off down Heaven's drain into their eternal home alongside the unsaved trash. For eternal punishment, it sucks to be them. And that's why we don't masturbate, kids.
