The Odyssey? More like Gorillas in the Mist.

Who knew the face that launched 1000 ships was an uppity nigress? I'm sure many find Mr. Nolan's casting choice for Aunt Jemima of Troy...I mean, Helen of Troy very perplexing, only that he's riding the common Hollywood trend to punk us with ethnic actors in historically white roles. What's next? Gabourney Sidibe as Adolf Hitler?

I think Mr. Nolan has gotten too full of himself, and thinks he can do no cinematic wrong. I hope for his next epic movie, he will be cured of his jungle fever and cast flattering actors to grace the big screen.

Madam, the entire Iliad/Odyssey "epic" is an affront to Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The whole thing is based on the worship of false, toga-wearing gods, playing silly, ego-driven games with human events. God, the Real GodTM would never do such a thing.

Helen of Troy was supposedly born from a swan's egg (an early attempt to shove Darwin's evolution ideas down our throats), and as far as I know, there are, indeed black swans. But there are no gray swans, which proves evolution wrong since black swans and white swans could easily intermix in that fantasy-driven "natural process".

To sum up, I don't care about the color of any actor cast in any godless hollyweird production, especially one that presents the Olympic gods as real, supernatural entities. It's all sin and it's all an insult to Jesus, so I won't be paying any attention to such "entertainment".

The only time to care about an actor's skin tone is when they cast the part of Jesus.
His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.

Although I have no interest in cinema, due to unrealistic story lines and multidimensional characters, it's possible for the medium to produce something of value. Theoretically possible. From what the critics are saying, in this case that has not happened.

But hypocrisy is the demon possessed elephant in 99% of the industry's challenge to Christ Jesus.

What anyone knows about Helen of Troy is close to zero: she could have been Chinese for all I care. Indeed, an exotic oriental specimen would have married quite well, one should think. Not that thought is a strong point in the industry. As an illustration, let's imagine the saga of Moorish attempts to occupy Spain. Off we go, they establish a bridgehead, fan out a bit, run into Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar "El Cid" which is a bit of a setback (repeatedly) and eventually hotfoot it back to Morocco. “Ripping yarn,” as they say. “Let's commemorate it in 70mm IMAX!” They get some Spaniards to play Spaniards and so on but for the head Caliph they go all edgy by casting a Scandinavian princeling, youngest son, no real prospects so took up acting to pass the time. The bleating would be intolerable, denying opportunity to Moors (if they still exist) and how unserious can you get? You'd never hear the and of it!

Hence my non-interest in this topic, indeed any topic that gives legitimacy to the Archfiend, whatever his nationality may be. It makes me sick.

I agree with you Madame Frottage. If you really want a good adaptation of the Odyssey, then you should watch the italian miniseries from 1968 starring Bekim Fehmiu.

On the subject of casting Jesus Christ, I think Timothy Chalamet would be perfect. He already looks perfectly starved and tortured, plus he's easy on the eyes. If I was good 40 years younger, I'd get on my knees and praise him instantly.

I don't know about the movie you are discussing but I once heard there was a Greek book called The Odessey. Since the Bible was the first book, that book must have been one Satan wrote to tempt people away from God's Word. Fake movies based on fake books based on fake gods are not for me. I don't read modern stuff.

Chalamet is neither blond nor blue-eyed. Try again.

ID:	2079727What is he wearing? Looks foreign. Weird shaped head. Jesus did not wear satin and His robes are white, matching His hair.

Revelation 1:14a His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow

Do you think there were pre-incarnation appearances of Christ? It's possible a Japanese manifestation would have worn something similar.

Like Jesus, Timothy is often hated for what he said, like when he said nobody care about the opera anymore. Like Christ, Timothy has grown interesting facial hair. Also he's close to His age when he was crucified. That when one looks at him, it makes some want to crucify him is why I think he's a highly underrated choice that should be given a chance.

                      In your link, I read:

his desire to preserve widespread popularity of the moviegoing experience
This was in the context of keeping it "live." But surely, I thought, cinema is the opposite of (a) live (performance)?

He was discussing ballet and opera. I gather they cost quite a lot to put on ..so ..divide that by the number of people who want to see it and Bingo!! you have your ticket price. Either it's viable or it isn't, regardless of the impact it has on one's eternity. For instance, a modern piece done by an Osaka Noise ensemble celebrating Hecate's relationship dynamic with Beelzebub, selling merch in the form of role-play costumes, probably best avoided by Christians and particularly by heretics having discovered their beliefs have no basis in reality. The eternity impact quotient would be extreme – even though ticket sales in Osaka would cover the production costs. It would be a form of opera I suppose. And it would definitely be live.

For these reasons, your actor would be unsuited to any part depicting Jesus.

I'm seriously disappointed by your choice of actor to cast as our and . Not for the reasons stated by the overweight loud-mouthed american Mrs. Handmaiden. The reasons is that you want Jesus to be played by a sodomite Jew!
It is no secret that Mr. Chamaleon starred in an LGBTQWERTY+ movie called Call Me by Your Name.
