Mine is an opinion and I am not ignorant enough to say other wise. The Jewish hated the Roman "heathens" for occupying their land and forcing them to slavery. So it would only be natural that they did not want them to convert. Oh! and the Bible doesn't count as a reference many of us are non-believers. ;3

So you were just babbling something. If you believe there were Jewish, you must believe that they followed Old testament. They would not have been Jewish with out The Torah. As you see, you just proved against your own claims. Jewish were there before they had any influence of Roman culture.

The fact that Portal isn't in the bible proves that it will lead to sodomy. Non-believers always end up sodomising each other. Portal just gets them there quicker.
