Negative, because I am born from above new creature, God looks at me through His Son and sees me as perfect, not that I am perfect, but am perfect ONLY because of what Christ has done for me.
Rom 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
Rom 9:14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
Rom 9:15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. Rom 9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

        Well, isn't that nice?!

You know what? This is your Introduction but I seem to have forgotten my manners. While it is great to keep our focus on Jesus, we still know very little about you. You're a stranger but that doesn't actually matter.

        Exodus 12:49

One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.

I'd like to ask you some questions, as well. Let's start with these:

        1. What are your views on the Trinity? Is the concept well justified based on what is revealed to us?

        2. You say you are saved? Does God's Grace persist once you've got it (hypothetical in your case as of now as we really do not know you well enough)?

        3. Can you judge? Do you judge? Is it OK for you to judge? Have you already judged us deep in your soul? What is your judgment?

        4. Is your name in the Book of Life? Who put it there and when?

In addition, you might humor one of our heathen posters and answer his question about ...

        5. ...persecution?

        Yours in Christ,

            Yours in Christ,

            Elmer
            1. Yes the concept of the Trinity is well Justified based on what is revealed to us in scripture. God the Father God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are one God.

            2. I believe in OSAS, so yes the unmerited favor continues till the death of our body.
Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

            3. We must absolutely judge, Jesus said there are many false teachers in the world, this means we must judge what comes out of their mouths and if possible depending where they live we must judge their lifestyle and measure it against the Canon of 66 books, which is our final authority over our feelings and intellect.

            4. Yes, it was put there in eternity, before the earth was created and before I did anything good or bad.
Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Eph 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Eph 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
            Eph 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
            Eph 1:8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
Eph 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
Eph 1:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
Eph 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

            5. Most of the persecution I get here in Canada is from the world including family members thinking I'm a fanatic bible thumper (which I'm proud of). Those things make life more difficult because my wife and I have few friends, but hey, it's not about what the spineless liberal Joel Olsteen, when he says we can have our best life now, my best life is future, halleluiah!
Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Rom 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Rom 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
Rom 9:14 What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.

Remember Psalm 5:5 that stated that [God] hates all those who do iniquity? The question you need to ask yourself is "Have you comitted iniquity?" A better question may be, "What is iniquity?" Iniquity is breaking God's law (also knowing as sin). To find out if you've ever broken God's Law (The 10 Commandments) let's go through a few of them.

The 9th Commandment states "Thou shall not lie"
Have you ever lied? If so, that makes you not only a liar, but one who committed iniquity, or sinned against God. Remember, God is not impressed with the weight of your lie. You might say "My lie didn't hurt anybody." or "I didn't tell any serious lies." But remember, now you're just justifying before a just and holy God that you don't think lying is that big of deal. The Bible says "All liars will have their part in the lake of fire" (Rev. 21:8)

The 8th Commandment is "Thou shall not steal"
Have you ever stolen anything? Ever taken something from someone else irrespective of it's value, even if it was small? If so, what does that make you? A thief. A sinner. One who has committed iniquity. Consider this, even illegally downloading music from the internet is a sin against God.

The 7th Commandment is " Thou shall not commit adultery"
You may say "No, I have never cheated on my husband or wife" or you may say "I'm not even married!" But listen to the words of Jesus who stated "You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery.' But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." (Matthew 5:27-28) Jesus didn't mention being married or actually cheating on your spouse. God sees your thoughts and Jesus clarifies that even looking at a woman makes you guilty of committing adultery. Have you ever looked with lust?

              Consider this:
              • Psalm 5:5, "The boastful shall not stand before Thine eyes; Thou dost hate all who do iniquity,"
              • Psalm 11:5, "The Lord tests the righteous and the wicked, and the one who loves violence His soul hates."
              • Lev. 20:23, "Moreover, you shall not follow the customs of the nation which I shall drive out before you, for they did all these things, and therefore I have abhorred them."
              • Prov. 6:16-19, "There are six things which the Lord hates, yes, seven which are an abomination to Him: 17Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked plans, feet that run rapidly to evil, 19 A false witness who utters lies, and one who spreads strife among brothers."
              • Hosea 9:15, "All their evil is at Gilgal; indeed, I came to hate them there! Because of the wickedness of their deeds I will drive them out of My house! I will love them no more; All their princes are rebels."

You you feel the steely gaze upon you as the words soak in to your imperfect mind?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

You sin, repent, ask for help, then go on doing what you were doing, and so repeat the whole process again and again.

Seems to me someone's prayers aren't being heard.

Seems to me someone's just talking to himself.
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Seriously? You must be a catlick. Only a deluded fool thinks they can go to Church on Sunday, ask for absolution and then return to sinful ways Monday through Saturday. God is not stupid. He sees right through your little schemes.

God has a sense of humor, He shared it with man (after all, we are created in His image). When you die, God will motion you over. You'll be all excited. The 'Big Guy' singled you out! He will have you look over the edge. You'll see all the tormented souls in Hell, silently screaming, pleading for God to save them from the unimaginable torture they are suffering. The next think you know, is a sensation of the largest foot (beyond comprehension) kicking you squarely in the backside. You'll fall, for what feels like an eternity toward the fires of Hell. Hotter, hotter by the passing second. Immeasurable heat, searing your flesh, boiling the fluids in your eyes. Yet the bottom never seems to get closer. Only your torment increases. You'll hear these words in your head 'Told you that you'd not go to Hell'

No, that would be habitual sin, a sinner saved by grace sins less, because they are no longer in bondage to sin.

1Jn 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1Jn 2:5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.

1Jn 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
Of course you can, you have free will. But God does tire of 'the boy who cried wolf'.

God requires complete dedication and sincerity.
                          Liar, Liar!

How does God feel about lying?

Can a 'Christian' be a habitual liar?
What about being a false witness?
Does grace give you a license to keep on lying?

This is what God's word says about lying and liars!

This is just a partial list of scriptures about falsehood, being a false witness, and lying.
Exodus 20:16 "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor."

Exodus 23:1 "You shall not bear a false report; do not join your hand with a wicked man to be a malicious witness."

Exodus 23:7 "Keep far from a false charge, and do not kill the innocent or the righteous, for I will not acquit the guilty."

Leviticus 19:11 You shall not steal, nor deal falsely, nor lie to one another.

Numbers 23:19 "God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?"

Deuteronomy 19:18 "The judges shall investigate thoroughly, and if the witness is a false witness and he has accused his brother falsely,
19 then you shall do to him just as he had intended to do to his brother. Thus you shall purge the evil from among you.
20 "The rest will hear and be afraid, and will never again do such an evil thing among you."

Job 31:5 "If I have walked with falsehood, And my foot has hastened after deceit,
6 Let Him weigh me with accurate scales, And let God know my integrity."

Psalms 5:6 You destroy those who speak falsehood; The LORD abhors the man of bloodshed and deceit.

Psalms 24:3 Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD ? And who may stand in His holy place?
4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood And has not sworn deceitfully.

Psalms 27:12 Do not deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries, For false witnesses have risen against me, And such as breathe out violence.

Psalms 31:18 Let the lying lips be mute, Which speak arrogantly against the righteous With pride and contempt.

Psalms 40:4 How blessed is the man who has made the LORD his trust, And has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood.

Psalms 52:2 Your tongue devises destruction, Like a sharp razor, O worker of deceit.
3 You love evil more than good, Falsehood more than speaking what is right. Selah.
4 You love all words that devour, O deceitful tongue.
5 But God will break you down forever; He will snatch you up and tear you away from your tent, And uproot you from the land of the living. Selah.

Psalms 101:6 My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; He who walks in a blameless way is the one who will minister to me.
7 He who practices deceit shall not dwell within my house; He who speaks falsehood shall not maintain his position before me.
8 Every morning I will destroy all the wicked of the land, So as to cut off from the city of the LORD all those who do iniquity.

Psalms 119:163 I hate and despise falsehood, But I love Your law.

Psalms 120:2 Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, From a deceitful tongue.

Proverbs 6:16 There are six things which the LORD hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him:
17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil,
19 A false witness who utters lies, And one who spreads strife among brothers.

Proverbs 10:18 He who conceals hatred has lying lips, And he who spreads slander is a fool.

Proverbs 11:1 A false balance is an abomination to the LORD, But a just weight is His delight.

Proverbs 12:19 Truthful lips will be established forever, But a lying tongue is only for a moment.

Proverbs 12:22 Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, But those who deal faithfully are His delight.

Proverbs 13:5 A righteous man hates falsehood, But a wicked man acts disgustingly and shamefully.

Proverbs 17:4 An evildoer listens to wicked lips; A liar pays attention to a destructive tongue.

Proverbs 17:7 Excellent speech is not fitting for a fool, Much less are lying lips to a prince.

Proverbs 19:5 A false witness will not go unpunished, And he who tells lies will not escape.

Proverbs 19:9 A false witness will not go unpunished, And he who tells lies will perish.

Proverbs 19:22 What is desirable in a man is his kindness, And it is better to be a poor man than a liar.

Proverbs 20:17 Bread obtained by falsehood is sweet to a man, But afterward his mouth will be filled with gravel.

Proverbs 21:6 The acquisition of treasures by a lying tongue Is a fleeting vapor, the pursuit of death.

Proverbs 21:28 A false witness will perish, But the man who listens to the truth will speak forever.

Proverbs 25:18 Like a club and a sword and a sharp arrow Is a man who bears false witness against his neighbor.

Proverbs 26:28 A lying tongue hates those it crushes, And a flattering mouth works ruin.

Proverbs 29:12 If a ruler pays attention to falsehood, All his ministers become wicked.

                          Isaiah 5:18 Woe to those who drag iniquity with the cords of falsehood, And sin as if with cart ropes;

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood And your fingers with iniquity; Your lips have spoken falsehood, Your tongue mutters wickedness.
4 No one sues righteously and no one pleads honestly. They trust in confusion and speak lies; They conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity.

Zephaniah 3:13 "The remnant of Israel will do no wrong And tell no lies, Nor will a deceitful tongue Be found in their mouths; For they will feed and lie down With no one to make them tremble."

Matthew 15:18 "But the things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and those defile the man.
19 "For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders.
20 "These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man."

Matthew 19:17 And He said to him, "Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments."
                          18 Then he said to Him, "Which ones?" And Jesus said, "YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER; YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY; YOU SHALL NOT STEAL; YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS;
19 HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER; and YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."

Matthew 26:59 Now the chief priests and the whole Council kept trying to obtain false testimony against Jesus, so that they might put Him to death.

Luke 6:26 "Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for their fathers used to treat the false prophets in the same way."

John 8:44 "You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies."

John 8:55 "and you have not come to know Him, but I know Him; and if I say that I do not know Him, I will be a liar like you, but I do know Him and keep His word."

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

Acts 5:3 But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back some of the price of the land?
4 "While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not under your control? Why is it that you have conceived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God."
5 And as he heard these words, Ananias fell down and breathed his last; and great fear came over all who heard of it.

2 Corinthians 11:13 For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.

Ephesians 4:25 Therefore, laying aside falsehood, SPEAK TRUTH EACH ONE of you WITH HIS NEIGHBOR, for we are members of one another.

Colossians 3:5 Therefore consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.
6 For it is because of these things that the wrath of God will come upon the sons of disobedience,
7 and in them you also once walked, when you were living in them.
8 But now you also, put them all aside: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and abusive speech from your mouth.
9 Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its evil practices,

2 Peter 2:3 and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

                          1 John 2:4 The one who says, "I have come to know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;

1 John 2:21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it, and because no lie is of the truth.

Revelation 21:6 Then He said to me, "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost.
7 "He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son.
8 "But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

Revelation 21:27 and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Revelation 22:14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.
15 Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying

Far be it from me to express my opinions. I just listen to Jesus.
