I could be wrong, and if your specific religion is correct, I will probably go to hell, but there are hundreds of religions, and they all feel just as special and "correct" as you do, so regardless of what religion I might end up with, chances are its not the right one.
the fact that god gives us conscious, then removes himself from our presence (physically, mentally and spiritually (until you find him again)) and then just allows us to roam free, just so he can cast the sinners to hell when we die, tells me that god either has waaay to little to do, or is his own definition of Satan.

There is nothing wrong with modern medicine. Nowhere in the Bible is there a prohibition against modern medicine. I think a good balance for a healthy life is a mixture of modern prescription drugs coupled with faith healing. In fact, faith healing works better than modern medicine. But, the point is there is nothing wrong with modern medicine.

I could have introduced myself better, I am a learned person, this mockup of my personality you get trough this site is hardly viable.

I am a 40 year old astrophysicist thats working on an aurora project in the cold north of Norway most of the year, but these days I am writing the first draft of my third paper, I grew up in a very baptist home in England, but moved to Norway at the age of 15 because my father beat me within an inch of my life, and sodomized my sister (supposedly multiple times) at the age of 11.

I have had an interest in theism since I was very young, and even wrote a series of articles on it when I worked for a Norwegian publisher back in the 90's

I wanted to believe in god for the first 25 years of my life, because I had grown up with the "fact" that god is our undisputed creator for the first 15 years. until I moved to Norway, being anything but baptist was absolutely unthinkable.
but then I realized that it had all been a hoax, everybody is told the same lies wrapped in different packaging..

And now I actively work to maintain the freedom of speech, and to create a good environment for atheism to grow in Norway.
I worked for a short time in a home for kids who had been tossed out of their family because of a series of different things. and the amount of evil a disgruntled religious parent or guardian can do is amazing. because they don't have anybody to answer to as long as they do what the bible says, and there is a bible for anything..

well no, atheism is the belief system that is having the biggest increase of new arrivals each year.
