Why is the KJV of the bible any more special than any other English translation of the bible? It wasn't even the first.

Re: Why do you only use the KJV of the bible?
First, let's dissect what you're saying.
Are you implying that just because something is the first automatically makes it better? I'm pretty sure the engineers who design prototypes of cars and airplanes, and the authors who write a rough draft would disagree with you.
Also, what do you have against the KJV? Why do you feel other translations are superior? Do you prefer the NIV or the ESV and on what basis?

Re: Why do you only use the KJV of the bible?
I am not saying that any are superior to KJV. I am asking why you all think the KJV is superior to others.1 Corinthians 11:3
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Re: Why do you only use the KJV of the bible?
It's been asked many times before. You can read this for information.
But the fact that you're asking us that means you have some sort of doubts. So please, why do you think the KJV is not the truest Word of God? I answered your question, could you please answer mine?

Re: Why do you only use the KJV of the bible?
I will happily answer your question. I believe the KJV is just as true as any other correctly translated version. This includes NKJV, NIV and a number others. I just seems to me that you place some strict set of rules saying that the KJV is the ONLY version a christian should read.1 Corinthians 11:3
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

I agree. All of them tell the exact same (true) story, and have God's will for us written in them. The only thing that differs really is the style of writing.Originally posted by Skeptic_12 View PostI will happily answer your question. Sure, and small details like Revelation.
Psalm 81:10:
I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt:
open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

Upon what basis do you claim those false bibles, the NIV or NKJV, or a number of others, have been correctly translated? Does your expert knowledge of Hebrew and Greek and Latin come into play?Originally posted by Skeptic_12 View PostI will happily answer your question. I strongly dislike the NIV and NLT. Here's an example I saw today.Originally posted by MasterShotgunz View PostI agree. All of them tell the exact same (true) story, and have God's will for us written in them. The only thing that differs really is the style of writing.

2 Peter 1:20
ESV knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation.
NASB But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation,
KJV Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
The NIV and NLT completely corrupt the actual meaning.
NIV Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation.
NLT Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet's own understanding,Read the series of the greatest smitings in the Bible.

Re: Why do you only use the KJV of the bible?
Not everyone who calls their self a "Christian" is predestined to be Saved(r), but all True Christians™ - i.e., those who glorify the LORD by following every word of the Holy Bible (KJV 1611) - are invariably Saved(r) because we are are filled with the Holy Spirit, maintain the integrity of His Word by following the only True Bible, and keep His Commandments.
However, it is fluffy-bunny liberal false Christians with their fake translations of the Bible who put America's place as God's Chosen Nation in jeopardy. This country has strayed far from its evangelical roots. This decadence kicked into overdrive in the early 20th century as false translations of the Bible, based on Roman manuscripts, began to appear on our shores. In fact, since the arrival of our modern English translations, beginning with the ASV of 1901, America has seen:
1. God and prayer kicked out of our public school
2. Abortion-on-demand legalized
3. Homosexuality accepted nationally as an "alternate life style"
4. In-home pornography via TV, VCR, and Internet
5. Child kidnapping and pornography running rampant
6. Dope-smoking has become an epidemic
7. Satanism is on the rise
8. Video games and dark rock-n-roll music which encourage our children to become homosexuals and school shooters are prevalent
The depraved Madison Avenue sales system that brings false Bibles into the country should set alarms ringing in American "Christians." Instead, deluded by television, they dutifully nod and remark that, "It must be good; everybody's buying one." Is there any "good" coming from modern translations? The publishing companies are making millions of dollars, but the Word is being watered down and perverted, circumventing the opportunity for Salvation(tm) for millions of people.
Today American "Christians" are spiritually anemic. They turn instead to their favorite "Bible psychologist" for help rather than Scripture. America as a whole is as morally decayed as Sodom and Gomorrah.
Ezekiel 16:49
Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.
From the time of its publication in 1611, the King James Bible has grown in popularity. Although not mandated by the King to be used in the churches of England, it did, in a matter of a few years, manage to supplant all of the versions translated before it. Though it was not advertised in the Madison Avenue fashion of today's versions, it soon swept all other versions from the hearts and hands of the citizenry of England and its colonies.
With the conquest of the British Empire behind it, it crossed the Atlantic to the United States. Landing here it overwhelmed the double foothold of the Roman Catholic Church planted previously under the flags of Spain and France.
It then began to permeate young America with its ideals. Its Truths led to the establishment of an educational system, based on Scripture, that was unparalleled in the world. It instilled in men the ideals of freedom and personal liberty - thoughts so foreign to the minds of men that their inclusion in our Constitution could only be described as an "experiment" in government.
It commissioned preachers of righteousness who, on foot and horseback, broke trails into the wilderness and spread the Truth of the Gospel and of right living. In its wake was left what could only be described..."one nation, under God..." This accomplished, it set out for the conquest of the heathen world. Bible colleges (Princeton, Harvard, Yale) were founded. Mission societies formed. And eager young missionaries began to scour the globe with little more than a King James Bible and God's Holy Spirit.
Here's something that you need to think about. If we King James Bible believers have our way, a Preacher would stand in a pulpit to read Scripture and everyone else in the church would read from the same Bible. Isn't that UNITY?
But if the purveyors of false translations have their way everyone would read from a different bible. That's confusion. And who is the author of confusion?
I Corinthians 14:33
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power

The man who is being progressively sanctified will inescapably sanctify his home, school, politics, economics, science, and all things else by understanding and interpreting all things in terms of the Word of God and by bringing all things under the Dominion of Christ the King. -R.J. Rushdoony
