European Union Regulations require you to have a Route Plan to show that the horse is being transported under the terms of the Welfare of Animals Transport Order 1997, Certificates (translated into each appropriate language) to show that the horse has been tested for infectious anaemia (via Coggins Test), glanders, dourine and piroplasmosis, also a test for CEM for mares and stallions, and a period of quarantine in your own country.

Other European Union Regulations require that if you are not a qualified horse handler, you wil be required either to take a teat or employ such a person. If you employ someone, you have to demonstrate that you have selected him or her on skill alone and not with regard to race, religion, height, gender or sexual orientation. EU form EU/112827a/86* is required and must be signed and certified by your local employment office.

You should also make a Health and Safety check of all equipment and documentation to show that you have done this. You should also have a list of qualified veterinaries along your route. Contact all the Embassies of all the countries through which you wish to pass for further details and statutory requirements within their countries.

Carrying lances, swords, morning stars, daggers, clubs, and instruments of torture is not permitted. You should arrange to have those sent ahead by one on the three certified security companies in Germany who can arrange this.
