Or that we have actually done what to the what? I thought that we were just supposed to read John 3:16 and then feel in our hearts what God actually meant to say. That's what the liberal false Christian bliss ninnies keep telling us, anyway.
well, my Husband reads it to me and then tells me what it means. I am allowed to read the Holy King James Bible on my own if he is not home, but only after all my chores are finished and his dinner is on the stove.
Well first let me say that I hope this post isn't mistaken for one of the many disingienous threads created. Hi my name is Chris I regularly attend the Trinity Baptist Church in Burlington (any others? hehe). I found the discussion here to be something I want more of in my life and am interested in contributing where I can (I mostly just read)
I was thinking about making one of my favorite passages in the bible my signature, what do you guys think?
Cor 13:4-13
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
It's powerful beyond comprehention, I pray for insight to understand and live according to the Book of God, Amen.
Oh for the love of... at least find an actual Scripture! Come on, http://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/ everything you need! You're an obvious troll. Either that or you're just slow. I'm hoping you're just a troll, because that's a special kind of stupid.

Hi, Chris. We're happy to hear that you are a member of a real church. Did you know that, in most churches, they don't even shave the heads of women who pray without wearing hats?
...every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven. For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her becovered. For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man. 1 Corinthians 11:5-7

Then you're in the right place. Glad to have you here!
Re: Actual BELIEVER just starting out on these forums
Do you have one of those Coat Factory places there? It is always good to bundle up before Church. A pure Church is always cold inside. Keeps away Satan.

Great stuff!
1 Corinthians 13:4-13
4Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 5Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 6Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; 7Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. 9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. 11When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. 13And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
I love 1 Corinthians. It's a superb book. For one thing it certainly has plenty to say on the subject of women knowing their place.
1 Corinthians 14:34-36 34Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. 35And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. 36What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?
It also puts those pesky scientists in their place.
1 Corinthians 3:18-21
18Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 19For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. 20And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain. 21Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;
