Her real occupation is "trole." Get it? Or is it "troal"?

What an idiot. "Help me to know God." Horse do-do. Just read the Bible.

And do not name your thread "Hit me with your best shot." This is just an invitation to confrontation. Obviously thinks we're stupid, but God has blessed us with enough sense to see through this charade and not to take Satan's bait.

I really think we're in danger of over complicating things if we stray away from the simple message of John 3:16.

If you don't believe then you are not going to Heaven. In fact it gets worse as John 3:17,18 shows us.
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

God has the perfect incentive scheme for unbelievers. He lovingly has prepared a dreadful punishment to be avoided at all costs.

Turn or burn, friend. Turn or burn.

    Welcome Pat!
Tell me, what is it like thinking you have 'all the answers'? Have you ever considered, honestly considered "What If I am Wrong". You have to admit, your life on Earth is mighty short when compared to Eternity as God has had written in the Bible and certainly it is a massive amount of time you secular God hating (can't we just get along without the hate) people think. You will be alive for not even a blink of the trillions of years you wack jobs perscribe to. Are these few scant years worth wasting on a chance that God does not exist. I find great comfort in knowing that perhaps I have to work real hard for Jesus for 90+ years. But I get in return an eternity of Bliss in Heaven. Think about it, you claim to be 'so smart', enlighten us.

Elentari, only a true supernatural being has the power to make themselves invisible for milleniums, no human can possibly duplicate such amazing miracles like that. Now that we settled your question, how would you like to hear a hundred or so pages of my favorite scripture verses? I challenge any atheist to read Genesis, chapter five, the ultra-facinating, "begats" and not be shaken by the Godly inspiration found there! Praise Jesus!!!

Note that I do not say religion. I am deeply against any form of organized... servitude? of any god or deity simply because I have learned from history - religion was used in the early civillisations as a form of easily controlling the population. In fact, the historical figure I respect most is Emperor Constantine, who, in a stroke of pure brilliance, combined several religions and gathered only the Christian books that approved of the religion he wanted to synthesise. Thus, Easter is governed by the moon calendar, Jesus' birthday coincides with a number of other gods', including Osiris.
I have gone offtopic. My wish is that someone present a logically valid proof of God's existence. There are some rules, though:
    1. One must either start with a neutral viewpoint or begin with the assumption that there is no God and thus produce some contradiction.
    2. One's arguments cannot come from the belief that there is God. You can't say "Atheists deny God and since God gave us free will, atheist actually don't have the free will to exercise their beliefs." That misses the whole point of the proof - starting with the answer.

I am currently wavering in my beliefs, but I don't plan on actively participating in any church service or such, so I would be most grateful if someone helped me with my request.
Welcome to God's favourite forum, in fulfilling your wish:

The definition of a testament is a document that the author has sworn to be true.

The Old Testament (for example) contains numerous witness encounters with God (Moses for example, see below - there are many others) which by definition (above) the author has sworn to be true.

This is the same level of proof allowed from a deceased person in a court of law.

    And your next question?

    Exodus 3:4
And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I.

    You madam, are an idiot.

    Your in Christ.
You have not seen some of the things I have. Why should I not be wavering, when every person I meet tries to convince me of the great happiness that comes with accepting God? The thing that drove me into atheism in the first place was some of the horrible things I saw in my teenage years and I might want to repair that mistake. Alas, years of math have removed every strand of imaginative thinking and will to believe without evidence.
And yes, the death threats were most real. "Lemme speed up your trip to hell, bitch!", I later found out the same person had been stalking me. If that doesn't scare somebody, I fear for their mental health.

I would be glad to explain my beliefs to you, but my life experience tells me most Christians will not listen. This is one of the many forums I've gone to to ask for answers, because I am in a very tough spot emotionally and I feel that if someone really explained God to me, I would be able to believe and enjoy all the happiness most Christians appear to enjoy. This is all. I do not see how asking for an explanation on behalf of a mathematician is insulting to you, it is the way I was trained for decades to think.
