Hi and welcome. 1 John 3:6 and all of 1 John 3 is about living without sin. That once we become Christians we are bathed clean in Jesus' precious blood.

He says whoever abides in Jesus does not sin, but whoever claims to be a Christian and continues to sin was never really a Christian in the first place.

Hello, dear friend. I welcome you in Christ's abundant love.
i am an 18 year old girl from southern new england. i was born catholic and today i follow the basic foundations of being christian: love the holy trinity, jesus is the son of god and our savior, etc.
Where in the Bible does it say that you need to follow only certain "basic foundations"? What is the purpose of the rest of the Bible?

I do disagree with condemning others because Jesus told us to not pass judgement onto others, thats His job.
I'm guessing that someone didn't read the thread that you're supposed to read before posting.

I am conflicted on the areas of gay marriage and sodomy. It seems a genetic mutation that God wouldnt have created if he didnt want it.
    That doesn't follow.

Romans 9:19-24: Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed [it], Why hast thou made me thus? Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? [What] if God, willing to shew [his] wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory, Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?

I am all for womens rights and I think that anyone who puts down women is insecure and ignorant.
I would never dare presume to put down women; I simply believe what the Bible says about their proper role:

Ephesians 5:22-24: Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so [let] the wives [be] to their own husbands in every thing.

Jesus saved the adulteress from being stoned, so He believed in forgiveness.
He also told her, "Go, and sin no more."

may the one of you who has never sinned cast the first stone, which is none because we as humans are inflicted with original sin.
That's true before you're saved, but after you're saved, it's a little different:

1 John 3:6: Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

    Welcome to God's favourite forum

What's your favourite Bible verse? What inspires you?

The one inspiring me today is:

    Leviticus 20:13
If a man also lie with mankind, as hee lyeth with a woman, both of them haue committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shalbe vpon them.

    All the best

  • my introduction (I believe in maybe a dozen verses out of the whole Bible)

    hi!
i am an 18 year old girl from southern new england. i was born catholic and today i follow the basic foundations of being christian: love the holy trinity, jesus is the son of god and our savior, etc. I do disagree with condemning others because Jesus told us to not pass judgement onto others, thats His job. I found Jesus through a series of poor life decisions and bad things happening to me along with being raised to believe in Him, or rather know Him because it is the truth. I am republican but I am also tolerant and open minded. This spreads kindness and love, not hatred and condescending words. He gave me mental imbalances resulting in depression so that I could find Him and heal.
I am conflicted on the areas of gay marriage and sodomy. It seems a genetic mutation that God wouldnt have created if he didnt want it. So, i fully support gay marriage. I do not support abortions but I do believe birth control is not a sin. I am all for womens rights and I think that anyone who puts down women is insecure and ignorant. Jesus saved the adulteress from being stoned, so He believed in forgiveness.
may the one of you who has never sinned cast the first stone, which is none because we as humans are inflicted with original sin.
i am not here to flame anyone but i do not agree with the beliefs and practices of the Landover Baptist Church. I am here for further religious enlightenment, practice, and knowledge. Just as you all believe it is your duty to tell the truth, i have the same duty.
    May God bless
Working...
