Re: Hi.
Now we're talking! I love that one! It's always a special moment when someone who was raised by non-Christians finds God.
What about it sets your heart racing for Jesus?

Re: Hi.
Favorite Bible verse? Well, I don't have a bible in front of me at the moment, but if I remember correctly, Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 goes like this: 1) There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. 2) A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot. 3) A time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build. 4) A time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance. 5) A time to scatter stone and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing. 6) A time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away. 7) A time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak. 8) A time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.Originally posted by Redeemed Papist View PostSo a favourite Bible verse was a bit too much trouble?
I'm with you on the whole seeing through the Catholic dogma thing but I think you have to read the Bible to truly understand God.

Re: Hi.
A cautious welcome, Lauren!
I'm glad you had the sense to refuse confirmation. Have you considered reading the Bible?

Re: Hi.
Welcome, young lady. You seem like a pleasant type.
Lauren, it's important that a real Baptist church is your destination at least every Sunday morning. Without constant guidance and direction from a Pastor of God, it is quite easy to lose your moral compass and cease being a real Christian. All too often, Christians begin to start dismissing parts of God's Word that are more convenient to ignore. Before long, they aren't really a Christian at all, except in name.
Not to mention the tendency to backslide into serious sin. As an Ex-Gay, I cannot trust myself to not again choose the wickedness of Sodomy without the persistant, yet gentle reminder from the pulpit that God would have me executed, if not for secular law.
We will happily help you find a proper house of worship.
In Christ

Hi.
Hi.
My full name is Mary-Luke Lauren St. David, but I just go by Lauren.
I read through a few posts on here, and it seems different from other church sites I've been to (whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is still debatable), so I decided to register.
This being the “Introduction” section, I should say a little about myself. Well, for starters, I was born and raised in a Catholic family (hence the name “Mary-Luke” – my aunt on my mother’s side is a catholic nun somewhere in Michigan or something, and I was named after her), I went through the whole “christening” process when I was a baby, but refused the confirmation when I was older. I believed (and still believe) in God and Jesus and all that, but I just distrust any formal “church” settings. My parents were pissed at me, but what can they do? It’s my own life. After my refusal on that part (and several tries to get me “exorcised”, which was interesting), they took me out of the Catholic school system and put me in public school. I was the only one of my siblings in the public school system.
That’s the brief version of my background. What else can I say about myself? I like to dance. And I like music. My singing is mediocre at best, but I still sing. I like art, like drawing and all that. I’m not a very good painter, but I do what I can with what I have. I don’t really watch a lot of tv, because nowadays it’s all trashy “reality” shows, advertisements for things no one really needs, and severely depressing news stories. I don’t have a facebook account. I used to a couple years ago, but it got boring really fast and my account kept getting hacked anyway, so I just deleted it. Same with twitter.
I’m not entirely sure what else I can say about myself, so I guess I’ll just end this here.
Bye.
