While I don't actually believe that Jesus existed, I do believe that the man described as Jesus in the Bible is the greatest human to have ever lived.

Please reconcile how someone you don't believe ever existed could also be "the greatest human to have ever lived".

Then explain how, since you don't believe Jesus brought the remission of sins, Jesus was a better human being and did more for humans than your "heroes" of science, like Jonas Salk, or great politicians like Ronald Reagan, or heck, even liberal trash like Bill Clinton, who fed millions of starving people and helped people with AIDS get medicine (in direct violation of God's Will, but you don't care about such things).

Yes, I know this is one of the harsher Christian forums. But I decided I'd give it a go anyways and see if I can contribute to some topics here or show members that not all atheists are bad people. You seem like a very tolerant, compassionate and kind Christian. You truly try to live like Jesus.

@Friendly Atheist: Although I'm a Christian, I with there were more of your type around. I admire people like you. But this isn't a place for discussing your beliefs, I'm afraid. People here are fairly judgemental of non-Christians. The fact that one of the smilies is muslims having bombs dropped on them might be a clue. Might wanna find a different site than this to talk about this kind of stuff before you get chewed out and given a bad impression of Christianity.

You must understand, not believing in Jesus is not the same as hating him. I don't believe in Santa Claus! Do I hate Santa Claus? No way! Santa Claus, like Jesus, is the personification of kindness, generosity and goodness in the world. That is something no one should hate.

A lot of people think that because I'm an atheist, I hate Jesus. And that is not true.

So Jesus came to earth, suffered at the hand of Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. He descended into hell for three days.

And He did this all so that sinners like you can have a chance to make something worthwhile of your life, that you may actually have a chance of meeting the conditions necessary to receive God's unconditional love.

And your reaction to His temporary sacrifice is to say "I don't believe You exist" and spit in His eye? What could possibly be more hateful than that? After all He went through for your sins, you just say "Not interested. I'm too busy with my addiction to sin and my inability to remove my hand from my genitals to praise you and tithe to your church." It's pathetic.

And it doesn't have to be this way either. Like it or not, the Law of God is written on your heart. You're going to kneel before God eventually, one way or another, after He is done letting you pretend that He is not real.
