So if the Catholic faith is a "cult" then why was it the first Church, started by Jesus Himself? (im a convert from the Baptist faith by the way) but doing some research, the Catholic faith is what makes the most sense. God bless you

First off, Catholics don't worship Mary, we honor her, but thats it, we ask for her prayers because we believe we can ask for our brothers and sisters in Heaven to pray for us.

Luke 11:27 And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
Luke 11:28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
Acts 1:14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
(The last time Mary is mentioned in the Bible, the apostles are praying with her - not to her)

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

Matthew 23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
Matthew 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
Tell me, what do you call your 'pope'?

If you ask me, this is pretty clear regarding what God thinks of Catholicks:
Matthew 15:6 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.
Matthew 15:7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
Matthew 15:8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
Matthew 15:9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

On the basis of what Bible teaching do you believe that? How many mediators between God and men are there?

1 Tim. 2:5-6: For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

What do you make of that verse and Matthew 23:9? Please answer without implying that they contradict each other, since God's Word is perfect and therefore perfectly internally consistent.

Friend, Jesus walks with me in my life. He tells me to follow Him. I do not need the 'suprise in the robes' priest to drone on and on and i'interpert' the Holy Bible. I READ it!
A guide is not a person I worship friend. Nor do I pray to my Pastor. I drop to my knees for Jesus!

If any verses of scripture at any time had an opportunity to exalt Mary, it would be here. But Jesus totally goes the other way and leaves Catholic false doctrine in the serpent's dust.
