As usual I have probably been a little over zealous in the manner in which I address people and for this I would like to extend my sincerest apologies.Originally posted by Faith_Machine View PostHmmm... I am quite willing to accept any rebuke or punishment the Pastors deem fit as it can only help to bring me closer to Jesus.

I have had just about enough of you and your fluffy bunny lezo ways "reverand" Rugmuncher. Where in the Bible (KJV 1611) does it say that the Flood was a "fable". A fable is a made up story based on some nutbags delusions. The Bible is the Word of God. Hence if God said it happened, then it happened, end of.Originally posted by Rev. Waynetta Kerr View PostThat's what I keep trying to say. The bits that have been changed and which bits are reliable. We must join forces. Please don't go.
For example, what is it about the lovely and wonderful story of Jesus' resurrection (though I don't like the bit with the zombie saints) that makes you so convinced to keep it while rejecting the silly fable of the flood as a just so story? It's so lonely here trying to get these people to see that it's necessary to use discernment when reading the bible.
Jesus is wonderful.
I quote from the Word of God:
Genesis 7:4-6
4 For yet seuen dayes, and I will cause it to raine vpon the earth, fortie dayes, and forty nights: and euery liuing substance that I haue made, will I destroy, frō off the face of the earth.
5 And Noah did according vnto all that the LORD commanded him.
6 And Noah was sixe hundred yeeres old, when the flood of waters was vpon the earth.
Please don't come on here trying to mislead people. All you are doing is making a fool of yourself. Silly girl, I feel sorry that you are going to burn for all eternity but that's what you get for being a deceiver.

The Bible says that if you want the love and grace of God, you do what the Bible says. Don't be listening to anyone who says, "But what it really means is..."Originally posted by medude View PostI am sorry, but will pursue the love and grace of the lord, will find a good church and intelligent pastor to help guide me...
If by good church, you mean one that guides its members towards Salvation by living and breathing the Word of God, you won't find a better one than Landover Baptist®.
Discussions of Biblical history are welcomed here. You will be amazed by the knowledge of some of the pastors (and others). You'll need more than vague allegations to begin with, though....And young peter, its not that I believe that the whole bible is false, just some parts may have been added and others removed...
Of course, denial of the Authorized King James Version as the perfect Word of God will not be tolerated.
... but I will seek the truth in my years to come.

Re: bible help
So yet another person who thinks that someone powerful enough to create the entire world in six days is too weak to keep His word intact. Exactly how are you going to explain yourself to God on the day of judgement? Please point out the scripture that tells you to "just go with what you feel is right".
So many people want to make God in their image, it makes me sad

You've already been shown the Bible verses that record God's promise to preserve His Word. Therefore, which of the following do you believe, and why?- God has preserved His Word, just as He promised.
- God has reneged on His promise to preserve His word, in which case He cannot be trusted.
- God is powerless to preserve His Word, in which case He is a weakling.
- God doesn't know that His Word has been corrupted, in which case He is seriously not paying attention.
- The Bible was never God's Word to begin with.
- There is no God.

Tell me, what are your qualifications that make you such an expert on which parts of the Bible ought to be believed and which parts ought to be discarded?
I take it you must be a Biblical scholar or some such? Where did you get your degree?

Re: bible help
Welcome, medude. Don't listen to that wolf in sheep's clothing, the so-called "Reverend" Kerr. Rest assured that the Bible is the Word of God. Man has not corrupted it. Jesus Himself promised that His words would never pass away
Matt 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
He even promised that not even the smallest letter, or part of a letter, would be lost from the law.
Matt 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
The word jot refers to the smallest letter in the Greek alphabet, the iota, which was in turn related to the smallest letter in the Hebrew alphabet, the yodh. Not even the smallest letter has been lost from God's law. A tittle is a generic term for a distinguishing feature on a letter, such as the dot above the English letters i or j. Not even the smallest part of a letter has been lost from God's law.
The canon of the Old and New Testaments has remained unchanged for millennia (except the catholics, who aren't real Christians, added the apocrypha to their false canon back in the 16th century). So when could these supposed alterations have occurred?
I remember once in a sermon long ago my pastor pointed out that the miracle of the Bible is a lot the miracle of the incarnation of Christ. The Bible is the pure word of God written through men. Christ is God made flesh, made man. Just as Christ's was not corrupted by the flesh but remained pure and holy, so the Bible has not been corrupted by man but remained pure and holy.
Look at the book of Jeremiah, if you will. Jeremiah wrote his prophecy on a scroll. It was read to King Jehoiakim, who cut out the bits he didn't like and burned them, leaving nothing, so Jeremiah had to rewrite his book (Jeremiah 36). This copy was also destroyed because Jeremiah told someone to tie a stone to it and throw it in the River Euphrates (Jer 51:63). Despite this, we still have the book of Jeremiah preserved without error or corruption to this day. What a miracle! Jeremiah wrote a third original of his prophecy that was just as accurate and inspired as the first two originals.
God wants you to follow His Word, all of His word. Those who follow His law are blessed; those who don't, perish.
Psalm 1
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
