There is something in the character of Shimei, the Cush David penned in Psalm. He was a man who wouldn't bow down to David, Shimei's loyalty to King Saul, whether misplaced, I found virtuous. I laugh when Shimei called David out, cursing him as a bloody man... there was truth in that and he stood up against him for what he believed to be right. David remembered Shimei on his deathbed. His conviction brought something out of David that I have never seen in a man. One who acknowledged that God put it in the heart of Shimei to curse Him. And despite the flattery of the people around him who wanted to cut the dead dog's head off, David knew better.

Never had anybody ask me that question before. Pastor Zek. For this, thanks!

      Praise Him!!!

            Re: question

Shimei, i wouldn't have told them I was disabled if I were you. I told them about my disability and have been getting constant jibes about it since I've been here. I hope they don't take you to task for it as well.

Thanks for the advice. However, I am pretty comfortable in my skin and it is pretty thick. My illness actually began and was traced back to my time in the service, ever since it has been a thorn in my side, so I doubt anyone will seriously convict me for it.

My prayers are with you teddybear. Care to share what your disability is, so that I may pray on your behalf tonight and know what I praying for?

              Praise Him!!!

What is the nature of your "disability" ?

What did you do to make God punish you in this way?
                Isaiah 66:15

For behold, the Lord wil come with fire, and with his charets like a whirlewinde, to render his anger with furie, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

I actually can't discuss it, all that matters is that I am compensated for it.

                  God Bless and Praise Him!!!

                    Re: question

Oops, I apologize if I drew attention to it for the others here. My disability is that I was born totally blind. My optic nerve is underdeveloped. It's not really bad, even though people here say I'm being punished by God for something that apparently happened before I was born. Really, though, it's not a punishment, just how I live my life. If God was really trying to punish me, he would have taken my ability to play the piano. I'm perfectly happy the way I am, although it would be nice to be able to drive, but if I lost the ability to play, that would be a disaster.

No apologies needed. Happy to hear you have found something beautiful in life. Musicians actually exists in a world that I will never hear nonetheless see. They can pluck a melody from out of the air and send it beaming across the continent by radio wave, by time I receive it, however, I'm lost as I can't distinguish between the different notes and rhythms. Kind of like an artist who can see different hues in a sunset that I never will. Glad you're here - it takes training like a musician or even an artist to see the moral beauty in God. Truly a blessing to having experienced such wonders.

                      Praise Him!!!
