Why the hell should I be punished for what Adam and Eve did? Plus, there were some complete mormons at my former church. One guy said that Israel had the right to invade Egypt and Syria because those territories belonged to the Jews. The current pastor is a guy who went to a so-called "bible college" and his logic and reasoning capabilities have been completely wasted. Plus, I can't stand the tea party, although if you check my introduction, you'll realize I'm not a completely liberal person. I'm too lazy to post a link to my introduction, but it's titled "this is why you read". Feel free to read it if you haven't already.

      Oh boy, so many people with...uhm...interesting ideas. I'm a Christian despite what they say on this board, but they'd probably call me a cherry picker here because my beliefs are a lot more laid back than these people. If you think about it, this site is pretty comical if you look at it the right way.

        Wow, I've never met anyone too lazy to be a liebral before. I think that may be a world record in laziness.

        And you're just another idiot who thinks he knows more than God. Somehow you think we haven't dealt with the likes of you before, but nothing you've done is more than mildly annoying, which is why you're still here.

        As for your old Pastor, he went to Bible college and learned what the Bible actually said? Oh how dare he argue with the great liar mcguillicuddy since "liar" knows more about God than God Himself.

          How did you become blind? Did you pluck out your eyeballs yourself, because they offended you, or did God curse you in the womb?

            No
            Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
            Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
            Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
            Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
            Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
            Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

              Great, so if someone starts a cult that gets offended by you consuming oxygen, what will you do?

                That I agree. I come here at times in search for a drink of water, sometimes it is pretty scarce. But what I end up mostly receiving is a good laugh, but unfortunately at times at the expense of others. This is the most "unique site" I have ever encountered.

                  Psalm 15 with emphasis on Psalm 15:2-3. Negative form as opposed to the positive form from Jesus, but nonetheless says much about doing no evil - one of my favorite verses:

                  The one whose walk is blameless,
                  who does what is righteous,
                  who speaks the truth from their heart;
                  whose tongue utters no slander,
                  who does no wrong to a neighbor,
                  and casts no slur on others;

                    What does that have to do with demanding a concession before considering doing something?

                      Didymus, not trying to sound like a jerk here, but how come it matters to you that he uses a different translation than the KJV?

                        Perhaps benignity, the way God draws men to Himself. I had that in mind when sharing one of my favorite Psalm in relation to your post.

                          Probably because in his sickular studies he's discovered the KJV Bible to be the best out there.

                          I think we can all agree that the NIV is the worst.

                            The KKJV isn't a bad option either. Have one in my house for us Slants, however, it has been ever since I exercised the use of its language. Anyone here can read it and attest to its accuracy?

                              You're English is pretty good, why don't you just read the English version?

                              I have no idea what the doodling is all about. If that's the entire Bible in one of the slant languages, I'm pretty confident that it's not accurate.

                                Forum standards, mostly. If you're going to discuss something like the Bible, you have to determine what exactly is under discussion. Allowing different Bible translations just opens the door to "but my Bible says something totally different...", and that wouldn't serve any purpose save offending those who are looking to be offended.

                                Having done some investigation on my own into the matter, I believe the King James is (overall) the most accurate translation available. This is a subject beyond the remit of this forum (or my willingness to voluminously rehash several years of reading from many different sources), so if you're curious, I encourage you to check into it yourself. Wikipedia is a good place to start.
