    Greetings, brothers and sisters

I love Jesus and accept him into my heart as my one and only savior. I am a devout Christian and have dedicated years of my life to helping my fellow Christians who have fallen on hard times and are sick in hospices. I dont have a favorite Bible verse, for every time I reread any given verse in the Bible, my soul sings.

I guess that's all for now

Okay. But what brought you here? How many little soldiers of God has your wife borne you? Where do you attend church?

What brought me here was my desire to reach out to fellow True Christians. God has blessed me with three little soldiers, aged 5, 6, and 9 - ruddy cheeked just like the Lord himself. I attend the Windsor Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma!

        Re: Greetings, brothers and sisters

Welcome, friend. How many queers with the Aids have you ministered to in the hospices? I often find hospices to be a fertile ground for soul-winning. People in that condition are pretty much just looking for anything to grab onto to give them some semblage of hope, and Jesus provides such a simple answer. I never get nearly the amount of smart-aleck back-questioning from those near death's door that I do from hale and hearty unsaved. "Accept Jesus and you will go to Heaven" has an immense appeal for those in existential crisis. It's an avenue I have been exhorting my Brothers and Sisters in Christ to exploit for some time now.
        II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power

The man who is being progressively sanctified will inescapably sanctify his home, school, politics, economics, science, and all things else by understanding and interpreting all things in terms of the Word of God and by bringing all things under the Dominion of Christ the King. -R.J. Ah, no queers you see, only those wrought with cancer. I do believe that saving is quite a bit easier on Christ's part for those on death's door. Salvation and heaven have quite a bit of appeal to those who have very little time left on this earth.

Oh my goodness! Have you asked them why they chose the cancer over the Lord? I don't understand people's choices these days. God help us.

            Bless you, my Sister.

                Amen Brother Jed.

We all should pray with vulnerable people. The end of life can make folks pretty angsty and depressed at times, but secular placebos are not the answer. It's within our grasp to actually improve the spirtual condition and collective welfare of lifeforms in general, perhaps not for every individual, but certainly in a general sense.

But if people will settle for false hope and so-called "science" there goes the incentive to actually do something real and meaningful or make any progress. If people think Charles Darwin is just going to come down and kiss their boo-boos all better, they won't grow from their experiences.

                Yours in Christ,

                Zech

I couldn't agree more. I don't understand why so many people are inclined to believe that the righteous power of Jesus isn't "enough" to rid them of their pain and suffering.

It's because they have not PRAISED GOD enough to be in in HIS good graces, and so haven't seen His MIGHTY POWER. God won't Save those who don't want it enough to work a little to earn it, and they can't seem to understand this...poor unsaved souls. But, God would set them on the path to be saved if He wanted them Saved I suppose. So really it's no loss.

Indeed. This is exactly why I bring my sons out to all the cancer wards in the greater Des Moines area every few weeks to knock on doors and ask the patients if they have a personal relationship with Jesus. When one of us finds a vulnerable receptor, I have a specially designed app for our smartphones to alert us and call us all to that hospital room. We then proceed with a laying-on of hands and plead the Blood of Jesus over the patient. Some may call us vultures, but all is fair game when it comes to Spiritual Warfare.

It really is all about timing. When people are flying high, they don't think they need to be covered in the Blood of Jesus to wash away all that filthy sin from the sight of the LORD. But once they catch that first whiff of brimstone, whether it be from an inoperable tumor or the gradual withering away due to an inability to digest food, the chances of success at soul-winning increase by an order of magnitude at the low end. Most people don't anticipate such eventualities, which makes our job all the easier.

I like Ray Comfort's approach to reaching those who are in the prime of life by frightening them with statistics like "1 in 50 people has an aneurysm that could burst at any moment." It's good to make young, healthy people aware of their own mortality. If we get them when they're young, they could live their whole lives fearing God.
sigpicMt 21:42, 44 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes . . . ? And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

You seem to be in a lot of pain, friend. Have you heard about Jesus? He died (temporarily) so that you may have eternal life. Isn't that Good News?

Amen. And thank you, sir, for being such a fine man of God who speaks where the Scriptures speak. Of a truth must it be said that those who accept Christianity do so because they are broken, wanting people needing a Savior. Those who are otherwise Jesus cannot help: "They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. 32. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (Luke 5:31-32) Jesus wants us only when we are most vulnerable.

This, of course, means that anytime someone is at a low moment in life, then as Christians we should rush in and take advantage by trying to reach them with the Gospel during those moments when they are least likely to reject the message.
