  • hello there!

Hi everybody. I am here not only to take fellowship in this godly forum, but I am also here to create a toy for girls. I need your godly suggestions to help me make a True Christian line of fashion dolls for girls! but anyway, I am here to introduce myself. I am a 23 year old woman and yes I am married. unfortunately my husband got called off on important family business. his great grandpa is very sick and in the hospital. As for what church I attend, I don't attend an official church. the majority of my family live in this neighborhood. So every Sunday, everyone in the neighborhood goes to my grandparents house ( in the basement, as it is the largest room, and it is quite comfy.)for the weekly sermon. ( my grandpa is the pastor.) the young children are taught by my grandma in the dining room.( similar to Sunday school) and the babies and toddlers are looked after by my aunt in the living room. my favorite part of the bible changes so often. I will have chosen my favorite part, and then I find something that is even more amazing. I have a beautiful daughter named Annalee(Anna for short). and she is 2 going on 3. and so that's it! hope you guys will help me out with the True Christian fashion doll project!

    Welcome

What significant event brought you to Jesus? What's your favorite Bible verse?

Here's an idea for you, but I think this one is showing too much skin

You should make yours a little more modest than this hussy doll

Psalm 137:8-9 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.
Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

Well when I was about 7 or 8, I was at bible summer camp and it was the last day of the camp, and the goal of the camp was for every child there to go home saved, if not already. the camp leader told anyone who was not saved to wait in the hall. they had the pastor speak to us one by one and he took the time to answer our questions, and I got saved that day.
And I do agree that doll is definitely showing too much skin.

My favorite bible verse is John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. I will post some where else where I will go into great detail about my idea.

Carolina, I'm glad to hear you want to make dolls for girls. In these liberal times we're living in, people act like you're a bad person if you don't make your daughter play with trucks and footballs so she can be indoctrinated into feminism.

Hello Mrs Smith. First of all there is no such thing as a "fashion doll" for Christians.

However as it happens I am making a small toy at present and am happy to post a photo. There is no need to waste money on such items of course, and I have used a suitable twig (English Ash in this case, but Oak is also suitable). The thing is not finished yet and unfortunately my friend's dog has eaten the head; I used a tennis ball but a pine cone is just as good.

The home Church movement was quite robust at one time but from what The Pastors were saying much error has crept in. Girls do not require toys and should be taught how to obey and pray. Nevertheless I do understand your wish to make something and I hope my suggestion has been useful.

I suppose you wouldn't call it a "fashion" doll. But I suppose what I meant by fashion doll was fashion size doll. a doll similar in height to a doll like Barbie. Around 12 inches tall. I agree girls should be taught to obey, but if the little girl is behaving properly, then I think a reward is indeed just fine.

Welcome Caroline. Have you thought about creating something useful, like a broom or garbage sack, something a girl can really use? Back in my grandparents day, I my grandfather used to give my grandmother rocks to beat the dirt out of the clothes.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

                      Re: hello there!

I feel this doll idea may be chancy.

Most little girls have little brothers who see these dolls. That Barbie doll is equipped with large teats and I believe it promotes impure thoughts.

The clothing would have to be unremovable and I don't believe there should be prominant teats in any case.

                      That is my advice.
God judgeth the righteous, And God is angry with the wicked every day- Psalm 7:11

                        Re: hello there!

Is there any way to design it so the clothes are molded right onto the body, kind of like you find with Star Wars action figures?

Giving a child a doll with removable clothes is always a bad idea. All kinds of exploration and experimentation invariably ensues.

                          Re: hello there!

What I'm thinking is a cloth doll with yarn hair and a sewn on dress and painted on shoes and stockings and under wear. or a plastic doll with molded on clothes, like Faith Machine said about the star wars figures. Nothing removable except for maybe a sunhat or bonnet. I am also going to make the doll be flat-chested. No large chest here! James Hutchins, perhaps the dolls could come a broom or garbage sack, and then a little pamphlet that encourages girls to use these items as well? I am thinking of 3 dolls in the line, a blonde haired brown eyed girl, I am think her name should be Beth? a brown haired girl with blue eyes and freckles, named Ruth. And a Black haired gray eyed girl named Edith. They would all be interested in godly things that would help prepare them to be a good wife and mother. Edith would like gardening, which if a wife has a garden she can use the vegetables from to make dinner. Beth would like sewing, and a good wife should know how to fix tears in clothes and make new clothes. And Ruth would like cooking and baking. What man doesn't love a good supper with a nice sweet cake for dessert? Young girls are like sponges, they absorb everything. They also model after what they play with, and these dolls seem like good role models. ( although everyones role model should be Jesus). the dolls would also come with a small Bible.

So sorry for the horrible punctuation and grammar in that last post. I meant come with a broom or garbage sack. Not come a broom or garbage sack.
