  • Hello, everyone.

Hello! My name is Sierra and I'm half-Asian. My mother is Indonesian and my father American. We live in Indonesia now, so I don't think you'd know where my church really is.. My favorite bible verse is:

Gal 5:23: gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

My mom's a Muslim but my father's a Christian. They say I can choose whichever religion I like, so I joined this forum and an Islamic forum as well, to better choose and understand each side. Father said I could convert when I'm twenty years old, which is two years from now.

    Nice to meet you.

    1) Catholic or actual Christian?

    2) How do they reconcile the fact that both their faiths say that the other is condemned to Hell forever?

      Re: Hello, everyone.

Welcome. Are you the one responsible for the iron marks on my prayer linens?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

And nice to meet you too!

Let us examine Islam: A man, Mohammed, who married an 9 year old girl and who was a lunatic epileptic invented Islam. Just like that guy who invented the Mormons, Mohammed said he saw an angel come down with tablets of gold and he just copied them. This guy, Mohammed, invented Islam 600 years after Jesus. This man who "saw angels" then goes to heaven on a horse. This is clearly a "made-up" religion.

Now let us examine Christianity: God chooses a virgin to bear His Son who has been with Him since the world began. The Child grows up to be Jesus, does lots of miracles and then temporarily dies on the Cross so that all our sins may be forgiven. Jesus then goes to heaven.

It is blindingly obvious that Christianity is right and right for everyone.

I hope that allows you to make the proper choice.

          1) Uh, since he's not Catholic, then I guess proper Christian? Isn't the term Protestant, though?

          2) I have no idea; mom passed away when I was little so I don't remember much (I do remember that she said I can start celebrating either Christmas or Eid Al Adha once I know better). I still visit my grandparents from my mother's side a few days each week though, and they're Muslims, so I take that into consideration.

I've been browsing around this forum and it seems like most of you knows the Bible by heart.. I don't. I read it, yeah, but I don't memorize all of it or anything and even if I do, the copy I have is in Indonesian. Will this be a problem?

(I literally googled my favorite verse to find the thing in English)

            Uh, double post. Sorry.

@James Hutchins; have no idea what you mean..

@Ezekiel Bathfire; that's one way to put it, but I'm afraid I still need to dwell deeper on each side to make my decision. Thank you for being super helpful though!

              Re: Hello, everyone.

As everyone knows, God created everything. He had the events He did scribed into the Holy Bible. No where do mooslimes discuss Creation. Why? Because they are riding on the coattails of Jesus. To put it another way, I could inflate a flat tire with air and claim I created the wheel. Any intelligent person would see through that hoax, knowing perfectly well, God did it. He gave us the inner tube and air, with them, I could not blow it up.

                Welcome

I am sorry that your mother is now burning in hell, but there is NO reason why you should follow her.

                Acts 28:28

Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

First things first, The KJV 1611 holds the perfect and only translation of the Bible. If you are able to read this forum I assume that you will be able to read the KJV.

Don't hesitate, any doubt just ask, we are here to serve GOD and spread the word of salvation that JESUS has left us.

                PRAISE THE LORD!

That depends. There are also some people who falsely call themselves Christians but they are really Orthodox. Also, not all Protestants are the same; basically, Baptists are Heaven bound, when everybody else is Hell bound.

                  2) I have no idea; mom passed away when I was little so I don't remember much (I do remember that she said I can start celebrating either Christmas or Eid Al Adha once I know better). Then why did you refer to your Mother in present tense in your first post? I don't know how good is your grasp of our Godly language, but over here we don't use present tense when referring to the deceased.

I've been browsing around this forum and it seems like most of you knows the Bible by heart.. I don't.
You should. It is a sacred book for both Christians and Muslims.

I read it, yeah, but I don't memorize all of it or anything and even if I do, the copy I have is in Indonesian. Will this be a problem?
Would you sign a loan in the bank without reading and understanding the terms of it? If the answer is yes, one day you might wake up with a 25% interest loan to pay off. It's the same with the Bible: you need to read it before taking the plunge.

Sierra, Be very careful of those mooslims in Indonesia. They bomb places (such as that nightclub in Bali). They take their orders from Al Qaeda. I would keep well away from them. You will surely burn in hell if you make the decision to join them!
