Indiana University in Bloomington supposedly has a good music school. Maybe you should look into taking up music Morton. We could use some more good Christian music, and the joos seem to do a good job at it once they put their noses to the grindstone. Nothing quite beats Irving Berlin's "Easter Parade" and "White Christmas" when it comes to good Christian tune-smithing.
    Mr. Bryan,
Yes, IU has a great music program. I do play the clarinet but I am not interested in pursuing it as a career since my dad is against guys playing woodwinds - he thinks it makes me a funny boy. Remember that I don't really know much about Christian music but I intend to learn if you'll let me. The songs of our faith are mostly derived from stories of the early Jews and remind us of how the Lord always keeps us in His hand. Thank you for being friendly instead of insulting.

Thank you Jedidiah; I read the story but Revelation is a little hard for me to grasp. There is a book I picked up that explains how Ezekiel and Daniel go with Revelation and prove the new testament as being real and I have to admit I see some ties there but all the vials and trumpets and seals are confusing to someone that was raised on the Torah.

I can't say I deny Christ right now because I just was never taught of him. A guy in my dorm is a Christian and I think he's Baptist but I need to ask him. He gave me a new testament and told me to start with John and then ask him questions. Why wouldn't the Jewish people of old accept Christ if everything was fulfilled in Him? He tore down so many traditions that I think this is what made people angry but if He really is the Messiah you would think that modern times would have been the time to appear.

Anyway, thank you for being kind and I hope to learn more here.

I think it's really nice that you are learning about Christianity through God's favorite forum! Better you learn from us than the liars elsewhere on the internet. If you need help understanding, just ask me. I won't be mean, I promise that I will explain in simple terms with biblical backup.
I believe our goals on here are mutual. To learn more about the Baptist religion and grow closer to God.

Well, thanks for actually making an introduction and being polite. You wouldn't believe the number of maniacs who get on here spouting stuff like

and you haven't done that. I am a little uncertain about your mother being involved in your nuptial arrangements, I could contact her if you're reluctant to broach the subject with her, as a goodwill gesture, and because I always try to understand the other person's point of view so that I can show here where she went wrong.

Yes, Revelation is a great book isn't it? Rigfht up there with Judges and Joshua. And Numbers. Is it true that these were all written in Greek around the time of Hezekiah's reforms during the axial period and just priot to Hellenisation of the Levant by Alexander the Great?

Do you use public transport? Oh, I seem to be asking a lot of questions you must think I'm ..oh yes I forgot, did you mention the size of your father's shop? Does it have branches for example or a private label? How old is he? Is he in good health? I'm starting to feel a bit dizzy, I think I need a cup of tea.

                Re: Shalom, Friends

Hello Morton, and welcome to our friendly forums! I always enjoy talking to Jews. We have much in common you know, as we True Christians™ have also been persecuted for our beliefs. The difference is that now your people control Hollywood, and by extension, much of Liberal America, whereas we are still openly persecuted. It's only a matter of time before we are forced to be registered so the Liberal Government can keep an eye on us and eventually make our faith illegal to practice. We're not bitter, though, and we don't do things like demand special holidays or anything to solicit pity parties. We're perfectly content with knowing we will be persecuted, as the Lord Jesus Christ tells us He will bless us for such things (Matthew 5:10-12).

I would encourage you to seek your heart and find that empty space that you people try and ignore. Jesus knows you intimately (Luke 12:7), and wants for you to come to your fullest potential (Ecclesiastes 12:13). In this way, you too can be loved by Jesus (John 14:23), and you can avoid an eternity of terrible pain and torment (Revelation 20:15). If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

I really hope he does feel sorry for his ancestors actions. The Bible specifies generational courses in loads of places (Exodus 20:5; 34:7; Numbers 14:18; Deuteronomy 5:9). It sounds unfair for God to punish children for the sins of their fathers. However, this is looking at it from an childish, earthly, hateful, ungrateful way. God decided that sin is passed down from one generation to the next and who are we to deny our loving creator. We may see this as illogical, arbitrary and psychotic but When a father has a sinful lifestyle, his children are probably going to have the same sinful lifestyle sometimes, I reckon. That is why it is not unjust for God to punish sin to the third or fourth generation (even if the child lives the life of a blameless, loving paragon of virtue) because they are committing the same sins their ancestors did by simply being born as God made them. Simples.

Joos (like a atheists) cannot feel love or affection or the satisfaction of knowing they will go to Heaven when nearly every one else will go to Hell.

Matthew 7:13-14 "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it."

I hope he takes the opportunity to learn of Jesus' conditional love for all who would obey Him exactly and in every possible way.

Mort, have you considered playing a fiddle? I saw a documentary once where one of you people would get up on a roof for some reason and play a fiddle. Never made any sense to me but the guy is probably dead by now and you may be able to replace him. YIC

                          Hello Morton Weinstein.

There is a man who lives down the street he is Jewish and he plays the clarinet but he tells me to call him Morty he smells like ground pepper what do you smell like.

He follows the Jewish Bible very closely it does not talk about Jesus so I asked him why do you play the clarinet if it is not mentioned in the Bible and he said it is but I know it is not and he said every time they said pipes they were talking about a clarinet. I asked him how that is possible in Zechariah 4:12 it says:

And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?

He said they were being repurposed he is always thinking about that sort of thing he recycles.

                          Thank you.

Zechariah is a great book, Mr Holbeck, and I read chapter 4 this morning in my new The Bible In Pictures while waiting for something to boil. The ancients did play a pair of pipes and as you can see [RIGHT] they have a reed similar to the oboe. Two reeds. An oboe has two reeds too, but there's only one of them.

The Bible In Pictures is quite well done, using the King James text, and you will notice the two pipes there emptying out. Although there is no mouthpiece shown.

I'm sure they could be adapted in some way.

                            KJV .. context

It was rather surprising to learn that God has 7 eyes and I wasn't sure what a plummet was, so I looked it up on the PLUMMETS of NORTH AMERICA MIDDLE ARCHAIC TO LATE WOODLAND website and you can see that first angel is about to give him one when he wakes up. I hope that is helpful.
