Re: Greetings and Salutations
I read the KJV, and I'm very familiar with those verses, but if you think I'm giving you guys the location of my church you're out of your mind. You guys would probably hak their web site or call my pastor and troll him. Besides I'd rather you not know where I live. I'm not here to debate Scripture with you, but I just want to warn people about you.

Really? please tell us about your "Baptist Church". What version of the Bible do you read from? The Fisher Price New Testament version?Originally posted by LolitaWolfiebear View PostAlso, I'm a Christian who goes to a Baptist church,
Your problem is not with us, all we do is follow the Bible and TO THE LETTER!!!
Deuteronomy 12:32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Proverbs 30:6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
Matthew 4:4 Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Maybe you skipped those verses or interpreted them for yourself...which is a no no.
2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
Are we a little tough on newbies? Sure, but only because of Jesus' love and our sincere devotion to saving the hordes of unsaved trash. Do you have any idea how many people claim to be Christian but are not? For instance; every single Roman Catholic is going to hell.
Sad really.....

I never said Scripture was twisted. Some people need to learn how to read.

Re: Greetings and Salutations
I wouldn't take this site as a serious reflection on what Christianity is about. These guys are the equivalent of the Westboro Baptist crowd, and the rest of us really don't want to claim these guys. They say off-the-wall and horrible things and twist Scripture around to bak it up just to shock or troll. Not sure where you found this web site, but I'd recommend Googling some other Christian forums if you want to learn about us. Here they treat newbies like the scum of the earth until they see you're going to spout the party line, and if you out yourself as a non-believer they will heap scorn on you and basically act like you're a plague on society. If you want proof, just look at how they've edited my profile. All that jazz you see about me being a witch and a pervert was added by them, even my username was changed. I was originally LobitaWolfiebear, which was actually a cool nname, but they've edited it and I can't change it back. Also, I'm a Christian who goes to a Baptist church, which they claim to be, but these are no Baptists I want to associate with. They are nothing but darkness and hate, and they make Jesus cry.

Of course we respect everyone on this friendly forum. Insultive language is very rude way to express yourself in writing.Originally posted by Seeking_Understandin View PostCan we not use insultive names for other faithes? I'd like to keep the respect to other people.

Not at all, dear. I just wanted to make it clear that our purpose on these forums is not to save the unSaved, to debate with atheists, argue with Anglicans, and so forth. We have more important work to do.Originally posted by Seeking_Understandin View PostBut if someone trying to learn about you is something offensive for you since it isn't exactly "praising the Lord", no problems, I'll leave. I am not familiar with the term "radical" Christians. Radical is a bit of a weasel word which means what people want it to mean. In this case, are you using it in the evil, liberal political sense or in the "back to the roots" sense?
The best way to learn about us is:
1. Read The Holy Bible (King James Version, 1611) from cover to cover. That is what Marko's icon shows. All other translations are an abomination.
2. When you have done that, read these forums. There's a lot of material here and all of your questions have probably already been covered.
And please do tell us something about yourself: are you married? do you have children? do you have your husband's or father's permission to be on this site?

Sorry, I didnt understand what the icon means. Yes, there are some catholics in Brazil. However, we have a strong evangelic/protestant political party in the lastest years. Things are kind of... conflicted due to this "new" party. Can we not use insultive names for other faithes? I'd like to keep the respect to other people.Originally posted by Marko Loimaan-Aho View PostI must say you are wrong. I was a long long time misled. The only Real Bible is the

Catlicks (I think there are some in Brazil) use their own book they call "bible".

Oh thank you, but I don't suffer from insomnia. I simply enjoy stay awake until late. I am more creative, or so I think.Originally posted by Attila's Wife View PostHello dear and welcome to our friendly forums.
As a rule, the Introduction Forum is where people tell us which church they go to, what their favorite Bible verse is and how they came to find Jesus. I can see that this is not going to happen here:
The thing is, dear, that this is not a debating school. We are here to Praise Jesus. You are mistaken about the hatred, though. I would estimate that over 99% of the hatred you see on these forums comes not from True Christians™ but from UnSaved Trash, who come here to persecute us. A typical post from these unGodly folk reads something like this: "Why are you so full of hatred? I hope you all get the AIDS and your children and parents die and your house burns down, etc. etc."
I am a little puzzled why you are posting at 3.30 in the morning, Brazilian time. Do you suffer from insomnia? Prayer can help with that, you know.

I know it isn't a debating school, however I suppose the best place to learn about christians is from christians, themselves. The Book - Bible - is the same but like I stated, there are many different christians out there. We have ours here too, but they are nothing like yours. Just so you can get the full picture: I believe you heard the (rather offensive term, tbh) term "radical christians" and the term "liberal christians". We have ours "radical" christians aswell, but they overall aren't closer to yours. And unfortunately there are just way too many pastors doing... not exactly Godly things with their own churches (would you believe me there are cults where the pastor forces the people to throw themselves in the ground?).
But if someone trying to learn about you is something offensive for you since it isn't exactly "praising the Lord", no problems, I'll leave. I do not want to create any trouble.

Greetings and Salutations
Hello people.
I am Brazilian and not a christian and I want to make it very clear that I am happy with my religious choice and do not wish to be converted.
So why joining this community!? We have enough trolls posting trash and unrelated things! The last post before you is called "God is Myth", my God!"
I know, and it saddens me. I do not wish to troll or create troublem. What I wish is understanding. I believe that you heard before people fear what they do not know and from the fear comes the hatred. For this reason I study many religions all accross the world and I finally felt I am ready for the christianism.
You may wonder, why did I chose to leave the christianism for last (I really did. The only thing after you will be the islamism, but they are last because they are the hardest to find resources to study). Well, while you aren't exactly hard to find (really, I have 5 churches near my house), you are the hardest to classify. There are just so many of you... Groups and subgroups and groups inside the subgroups that form more groups! And they are all so different in what they preach and what they expect from the followers. Overall, Jesus and His (gotta get used to use the capital H around here...) words are word-wide known for being words of peace and love, but the hatred many people, including in this forum. Why is that?
Also, I realized overall this community has a strong sense of patriotism. While this is somewhat common among North Americans, it seems particularly stronger among your ranks (however, it might be merely the particular opinion of the people's posts I read and not representing this group as a whole).
And for now, as a last question to you, you seem to have a strong "belief" in the capitalism and in many places have I seen an association of the communism with the satanism. I do not think the capitalism is a God supported idea nor do I think it isn't, for the Bible being written before the whole "capitalism" concept became an actual thing.
Thank you, sorry for any grammar mistakes and for writing such a huge wall of text. I know it is tiring to read something this huge but I'll be grateful if you take the time to read it all and answer my question in a civilized, non-agressive way.Tags: None
