I neglected to put on the list of songs not to hear or sing is Holly Jolly Christmas. In the lyrics you will find "Jolly" referring to being high on drugs. Then it gets worse--pre sex kissing. One cannot walk through a mall this time of year without hearing this song. It needs to end.

Happily I didn't listen far enough to hear the subtext, nor was I going to in the next ..er ..track is probably the best word, from England. Thinking they may not all be completely insane and reminded how their "department stores" have a "bedrooms and linen" section where alternative Christmas styles could be pumped in to "anaesthetise" the (hopefully) paying customers, what could be more tasteful? (I thought) but I was wrong.

Christmas themed music should not be purchased assuming that what you think you're getting is anything like what you'll actually hear (and see, in this case) especially if sourced from the shopping mall or dubious online providers. In this case I listened all the way through to see if there was anything appropriate for Christian homes. There isn't and now I've got a headache.

A Brother Lukes pointed out, the most popular version was by the late Berl Ives. The version you posted was especially evil--it was aimed at lesbians. The singers are females. When the lyrics put a female under the mistle toe they women sing, "Kiss her once for me." If that isn't a lesbian pick up line I don't know what is.

Absolutely revolting. Assuming she's talking about her "boo" since when did to expect people to be served up wrapped in tacky-looking paper with big bows (or beaus)? Exactly the sort of thing she and her ilk spend the rest of the year complaining about. I'm sending you a friend request to make up for your displeasure recalling such a thing. I'm assuming you didn't actually listen to it.

As it happens I never go into "malls" unless absolutely essential (for sewing machine needles usually) and the more I hear about them the even less I want to.

What about that other horrific song about snowmen? Talk about whatever it is makes people think they're on a flying carpet! And then there's that thing about "do they know it's Christmas?" Great list, Mr. Mayor. I don't understand why anyone thinks Frosty the Snowman is appropriate. The song is obviously about a cocaine dealer. Just consider:

- Snow is a slang term for cocaine.

- He always has a pipe and coal. He is obviously freebasing.

- "The children know how he came to life one day." Cocaine is a stimulant, and he's selling it to children.

- "When they placed it on his head, he began to dance around." Cocaine is a stimulant that acts on the brain.

- "Let's run and we'll have some fun now before I melt away." When the drug-induced hyperactivity and euphoria ends, cocaine users crash.

- "Frosty the Snowman had to hurry on his way, but he waved good-bye, saying, 'Don't you cry, I'll be back again some day!'" He needs to stay on the move to avoid being apprehended by the police. Not only does he sell drugs to children, but he has a regular route, which keeps them addicted.

All the signs are there if you look for them. Drug dealers like Frosty should be strung up by their snowballs, not celebrated in Christmas songs. When Donald Trump is President again, he's going to ship Frosty back to Mexico with the other drug dealers and rapists they keep sending up here.

Besides the dripping-with-sex "Baby It's Cold Outside" are a plethora of rock and roll songs. I assembled a short list of those I do not want listened to in Freehold. Member others would like to add songs that are especially offensive to them. Here is my banned list:
--Jingle Bell Rock
--Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
--Frosty the Snow Man
--Santa Baby
--Blue Christmas
--Mistress for Christmas
--Little Saint Nick

I find "Good King Wenceslas" to be particularly objectionable in its pro-Catholic lyrics.

Quick reminder that these people are from Ohio. Everything sucks in Ohio, including the weather. They just don't like getting reminded of the cold weather. If God was truly dealt with sending these people down the path of damnation, he would've destroyed Ohio by now.

So where's the outcry over "Santa Baby"????? In this lascivious song, the woman pleads for Santa to shimmy down her chimney (obviously a double-entendre) and she continues to sensuously request various gifts of expensive value as if Santa were some kind of - well - Santa or something. Oh, it's OK if the woman is a vamp siren vixen, wailing about needing a convertible or diamond tennis bracelet, but when a man is simply being a man, as in "Baby it's cold outside", he is somehow akin to a rapist. I call shenanigans.


If she really wanted to leave, she would have put on her coat and gloves and walked out the door instead of sticking around to sing.
