But he also urged residents to stay put in their homes.
"We urge everyone if you don't have to go anywhere, wait. This snow should end early tomorrow morning with a 24-hour cleanup," Fenty said. "We should have a lot of streets ready to go by rush hour Monday. And, hopefully, all of it done between Monday and Wednesday."

Really, have you ever seen anything so un-Christian?

Indeed, this snowstorm is hurting our sales, and we can't afford this, especially in a recession.

As you all know, this year Christmas falls on a Friday, a big inconvenience for last-minute shoppers. Even worse, people have Saturday and Sunday free, which gives them extra time to RETURN UNWANTED GIFTS.

This is a national emergency! In view of the bad weather and bad timing, our lobbyists are pushing Congress to declare a natural disaster, and enact special legislation to delay Christmas until Monday, December 28. It seems like the Christian thing to do.
