A friend from Northwestern Minnesota called me today.

"Mayor, you can't believe how crazy people here have become over Curly the goat. The goat ran from a Navtivity scene in Fergus Falls. People searched for 25 days. Now they found her. Instead of putting a bullet through her brain, she's some kind of hero."

I told my friend any goat who is disrespectful of Baby Jesus, indeed, should be shot and barbecued. Goat worship is terrible.

I wish now we would have sent our own posse up there to find it before the goat worshippers did.

I'm asking the citizens of Freehold to not use human actors or live animals in their nativity scenes this year. When the donkeys and goats escape, Freehold's Finest have to put bullets in their heads.

Then there is the problem of children who need to visit the bathroom when they are supposed to remain in their acting roles. It reflects badly on the Baby Jesus to have human needs placed before His.

All in all, it just seems more respectful to set up the plastic figures and go inside. That's my thinking.
