so what if we eat whale? we don't hunt them down, we catch the few that get lost between the islands. think of it this way: the whales have had a long life roaming free in the ocean. One day they get unlucky, and die in a way that looks burtal but is actually more humane than any other. the whales die instantly. killing a whale in a painful way is illegal.

tell me, do you not think it is sad to kill pigs? aren't they cute? they live a life in captivity, forcefed, and held in a very small cage where they can't move very much. their death is far more horrible than the death of the very few whales we get in.

We do not eat Dolphins. Dolphins have sometimes been mistaken as pilotwhales, and there are people who haven't been properly trained that have killed dolphins.

i don't think that you have any right to judge us for being whale eaters. think about all the poor pigs, ducks and cows that end up in your huge burgers in america? for a country of 50.000 to get maybe 100 whales in A YEAR, to YOU america. how many people live there again? how many animals are killed so that you can have your big precious burgers??

Oh.... i you don't mind, i would like to correct some things.

1) the flag you put on is Islandic. The faroese is white (symb. purity) with a red cross (symbolises Jesus' blood) and blue (can't remember what it symbolizes)

2) Which sinful ways are you talking about, particularly?

3) The Faroe Islands does not stand for an egyptian Pharaoh, it stands for the danish word får, which means sheep. so in english it would be the sheep-islands. It was given its name because of the many sheep which were on the islands, believed to be brought by the monks, who arrived before the vikings.

4) Well.... we don't have sex inside family, if that what you're thinking. i know of one person who fell in love with her 2nd cousin and had a baby with him. she didn't know until after.

5) We are not under denmark because we are lazy. Since the vikings were the first who actually settled in the faroe islands for generations it automatically became norwegan. due to a war that norway lost to denmark they had to give the faroe islands over to denmark.

6) Our national holiday is not called onan voka but ólavsøka. it is called up after king olav in norway. he made christianity the state religion.

7) I know of none who has ever practiced which craft.

8) We don't have a problem with alcohol. there are a few alcoholics here and there but that's it. and we don't encourage children to drink at all! we would never do that! The age-limit of drinking is 18 here.

9) Our coat of arms is not a ram (male goat) but a male-sheep. It kinda looks like a ram but it is not. i can see on wikipedia that they have called it a ram, but it is not
