He put so much time and detail into the architecture of the Temple and of the design of the priests' robes. Before that, He worked out all the math for the Ark. I want to know exactly what to use for my unclean time.

Which substance? Rags, sponges, cornhusks? Are rags to be folded crosswise or lengthwise? Sister Joanna has counseled that items are to be put on, not in. But, I seek so much more. After all, a True Christian of either gender (And there are only the two, of course!) would want to please the Lord and meet His every expectation.

Am I wrong in wishing that God had given more attention to this issue (pardon the pun) in His Holy Word? It's almost as if it didn't matter that much to Him because it concerned women.

    Ponderingly Yours,
    Handmaiden
Well, Sister Handmaiden, you ask some really good questions. However, I don't think it really matters what kinds of rags we use because we and everything we touch during "that time" is unclean anyway.

Do you realize that True Christian(TM) prostitutes lose hundreds if not thousands of dollars during their unclean time? Not to mention all the laundry that has to be done (of course, that task is taken care of by the unclean harlot). So be glad you are a wife and mother - lest you have to deal with all of that extra work.

I am very proud of you girls for finally discussing things that help to edify you and present you blameless in the eyes of God. (Colossians 1:22)

I do want to point out that Sister Lytton-Vasey is correct about foreign objects being placed in the vile cavern of conception. Something you may not know, Sister Handmaiden, is that verses such as Acts 19:19, where former magicians burned their magic books, prove that objects can have demons. Since that area of the female body is such a temptation for the unbeliever, it only stands to reason that anything placed there can result in negative consequences! The demons lodge themselves in the crevices as if they were monsters in a haunted house. When the man's liquids begin fiercely swimming toward their goal like so many little Michael Phelpses, the demons latch onto them and thus a demon possessed infant is conceived. Often the devil is able to hide itself until the child is of age and becomes a Mormon, rock star, or politician (think Hillary). Is this a chance you really want to take?

I would never take as a wife a woman who cares so little about her future children or spot in heaven as to utilize anything but the objects Sister Joanna mentioned. They really only require one investment if you weren't blessed to have them handed down. Go to the Dollar Store and purchase a plain white sheet set and then just start cutting them up. I do not think the Bible condemns the use of printed sheets to help you feel lovely during that time, but I will leave that to well-experienced women such as Mary Etheldreda, Virginia Templeton, and the like.

ONE MORE THING: Never use your prayer shack as a menstra-hut. That would be an abomination. Your prayer shack can actually be a room within your home. The menstra hut should be separate (preferably out of sight). It can be as elaborate as you can afford, but why? A bed, perhaps a lamp and non-perishable food and a supply of water is really all that's needed. No need to change clothing until the issue is complete.

Ladies, PLEASE do not be offended that a virile, handsome, masculine male is discussing such things. I am a certified equine gnathologist and almost a veterinarian! That makes me just steps away from being a medical doctor, so it is acceptable. If I have damaged your sensibilities, may I offer this sincere apology.

Oh, I know . . . but He is so specific about which animals are clean or unclean and about all those utensils in the Temple. I was sort of hoping for more. Isn't that how you know someone cares? When they go out of their way to lay out every aspect of your life and offer to control all the details so that you don't become anxious making decisions and thinking about the outcome of your actions?

I just love Jesus so much! When I wore contact lenses, I couldn't even put them in without a steady stream of prayer. It was like Jesus Himself was sticking His Own Finger into my eye.

Of course this is what True Love is. However, God in the Holy Bible dedicates more time to men's life because men are, well, more important. I mean, just think of the story of Adam and Eve and their sons. The life and death of Abel is explained in much detail; the subsequent life of Cain is too; and we know enough about Seth to know the name of his son. But, who were the women in their lives? Did Cain and Seth marry their own unnamed and unmentioned sisters? Or did they produce their offspring with their own mother (now, that would be an awkward Christmas dinner moment - as a child of Seth and Eve, do you call her Mom or Grandma)? Or did God create new women for them?

From our feeble female point of view, these are important questions, because we'd like to think that the whole world revolves around us. However, the fact is that these are meaningless questions. The only importance of women in the Bible is to lay with their husbands once and produce male offspring. Their names, who they are, and what they do when they are not doing that single thing, is really not important.

Wisely put, Sister, dear. The whole world revolves around Jesus, and the menfolk are our world. Or, is it the other way around? I get so confused at times. Probably because my brain was clearly designed by God to be fundamentally different. And possibly because the blood flow has been temporarily re-directed.

I still remain confused about the books of Esther and Ruth, why did God bother to include them? Should we ask a Brother about that? Is it important enough to be discussed out on the main forum?

Sister Basilissa, I know you are an unmarried lady and I thought I ought to clear up a little misunderstanding you seem to have there.

I am sorry to have to tell you that it is necessary for a woman to lay with her husband every time that he wishes her to produce offspring. A single act is insufficient. My dear husband and I have been blessed by Jesus with 8 boys (and a girl) and, apart from the 2 sets of boy twins - I count myself twice-blessed there - each birth has required at least one separate act of you-know-what.

Try to think of it in terms of flowers. We are not perennials. Our growing season, following the act of laying with our husbands, produces the equivalent of an annual plant which needs to be replanted each Spring. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 may help you understand.

              Yours in affectionate Sisterhood,
              Joanna
