  • Biannual pie contest

It's hard to believe it's been over 2 years since we got a look at the ladies' pies. Who can forget Isabel's sister's cupcakes? At her age! Foul play suspected but it's all just good fun. Ha ha ha ha. You don't want to come last though.

This year the Mayor has confirmed it will be held over webcam. Ladies will need to prepare a short video clip, complete with copyright transfer, where they take us from the raw material to the final product. Think outside the box - points awarded for creativity. Pie samplings may be arranged at a later date.
If I have seen further, it is by standing on the heads of others.

Has it really been two years since the last Ladies' Pie Contest, dear Brother Dr. Toole? My; how time flies! Agatha did put a lot of effort into perfecting those cupcakes; I must say. As for this year's event, Aggie says she might submit photos, but she prefers not to go on one of those movie app thingys, Zoomed, or whatever they call it. I so hope she will win again this year, as she's always been a tremendously talented baker. Attached is a photo of her in her much younger years, teaching our great-niece, Matilda-Mae, how to bake! And I so hope that our other Ladies of Landover will step up and accept the challenge, too!

My husband says I have the best cream pie around. He doesn't even mind it if there is a little bit of hair in it. Would the men of the church like to see my cream pie? I can have my husband video it tonight. Do they also need to see what happens before the cream pie?

One of my domestics, Li-Hua is my personal masseuse but she uses something, canning wax I think, to make sure the other girls pies are hair free. Don't ask me how it works. All I know is that there is some screaming and sobbing involved. I don't care what silly ancient Chinese secret she uses so long as my Asian tarts are hairless.
