For those who are aware of their previous transgressions this does not come as a surprise.

Did you know that Icelanders get hot water without paying their energy company? That's theft of service! And they're not stealing from just anyone, by tapping geysers they're stealing from God Himself, as it was God who placed their ice covered rock right over Hell.

I agree that the USA should purchase Iceland. We could use that floating iceberg as a good naval and air base. It would also be a good place to build a new Gitmo. Right now those damn terrorists are soaking up the sun in tropical Cuba. Those evil bastards deserve to freeze in sub-zero temperatures in Iceland!

This is what happens when you place eskimos who are used to a barter-based economy into a modern financial one. Icelanders do not understand debt, interest, capital gains, etc. They understand simple concepts like "You give me five herring, I give you penguin egg." They just aren't the kind of people you would trust lending money to.

They owe 5.2 billion dollars. divided among 320,00 people, including women children, retardeds, crippleds and old folk, that's over $16,000 per person. They can't pay it!
