  • We Look Alike We Think Alike.

This summer, I'm hoping all homeowners in Freehold are caring for their vast green lawns. I'd like to take a moment to reflect on our City and what is in the common good.

We want our City to reflect our Christian grounding. For that reason, we in Freehold do not like what I call "genius landscaping". These are rock gardens, flower beds, "natural" grass displays and any other landscaping that reflect individual tastes and preferences. Diversity is not what we are about. We do not want weeds in our lawns nor "weeds" among our citizens.

Uniformly green lawns reflecting our uniform values. I hoping lots of herbicides and fertilizers fly off the shelves of our hardware store.

    Have a wonderful summer.

Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

    Agreed.

When I think of Christianity I do NOT think of a lone maverick upsetting the established ways and customs of the land

1 Peter 1:14 - As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

We should have the minds of children who do EXACTLY what they are told: every time, all the time.

Jesus owns us and we MUST obey.

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. - Revelation 4:11
For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: - Colossians 1:16
The earth is the LORD's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. - Psalms 24:1
For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice, - Psalms 95:7
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good. - Proverbs 15:3
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. - Matthew 7:21
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. - 1 Corinthians 10:31
I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images. - Isaiah 42:8
If ye love me, keep my commandments. - John 14:15

I'll leave the much overhyped thinking to so called atheists.

1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

You can spot an atheist neighborhood blocks away. Often they are around secular universities. Every lawn has vegetables growing instead of grass. Sometimes flowers.

When you see that it is a sign of disorderly and random ideas. People who read the Bible have identical lawns.

You'll generally find either a Volvo or a Prius parked in their driveway, the radio is tuned to NPR, the New York Times is sitting on their porches, they walk around in Birkenstocks drinking lattes, and their grocery bags are overrun with tofu.
        Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
        ...and get off my lawn

          Thank you, Mayor!

This is probably one of the most pivotal posts of all time. As the Lord God our Sweet Jesus Christ is the same now and for ever (Hebrews 13:8), so the surroundings of our Earthly abides must also reflect this that is the shape of things to come once in Heaven! I think that some eager young men or the Freehold community could actually form a vigilante group that would investigate the state of the lawns and use appropriate countermeasures lest a member of the community trespass!

This is all necessary in preparation for the Heavenly Meadows!

          Psalms 23:2
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

Jesus will not allow the lawns in Heaven to be disorderly! I'm expecting gently undulating hills covered with precision-cut grass, no tare (Matthew 13:25-26), lawnmowers purring in harmonious chords and abundant sprinkler water to give the blades of grass just the right hue of green.

In fact, we're expecting Jesus to go through some elemental transformation to water the roots of the Eternal Grass Himself!

          Psalms 72:6
He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.

It is only reasonable that we anticipate this Wonderful Eternity by respecting Jesus's sacrifices by keeping our gardens impeccable to show the world what they're missing when they turn their backs on our Savior, Jesus Christ, Son of Man, Son of God, God!

          Thank you, Jesus!

          Yours in Christ,

          Elmer
2 Kings 18:25 - Am I now come up without the LORD against this place to destroy it? The LORD said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.
