He was born to the position and this position was granted to him by God. He died and everyone knew this, yet they still followed him and put their trust in him. The people had faith that his words would live on. It was this faith that led them to accept that, even after his death, he would fulfil his promises and their wishes would be carried out in the manner he ordained.
His opponents were alive yet, such was their message, his people rejected their leader appointed only by man. The opponents were rejected because they did not give hope for all.
In this small part of Tennessee, death had no dominion, his spirit conquered all.
Dear readers, there are atheists, agnostics and pagans who reject as unlikely the Risen Christ. They may believe that Death has conquered Him Who is The Son of God and that the story of the empty tomb is nothing more a fairy story. But then there are people like the good people of Tennessee who prove these God Mockers wrong.
His opponents were alive yet, such was their message, his people rejected their leader appointed only by man. The opponents were rejected because they did not give hope for all.
In this small part of Tennessee, death had no dominion, his spirit conquered all.
Dead man wins mayor's race in small Tennessee town

TRACY CITY, Tenn. – A dead man has been elected mayor of Tracy City, Tenn.
Carl Robin Geary died suddenly on March 10. But he received 268 votes anyway in Tuesday's nonpartisan election, beating out incumbent Barbara Brock with 85 votes in the two-candidate race.
An election administrator, Donna Basham, said Wednesday she wouldn't speculate on why Geary won posthumously but noted his death had been widely reported at the time in this corner of southeastern Tennessee.
She says the city council will now have to appoint a mayor to the four-year term.
Brock had been appointed mayor 16 months ago when the previous mayor died. She says she thought she had done a good job but added voters wanted a return to the past.
