In the 2020 Election, We Now Know Why Trump Lost

There is finger pointing going on about why the greatest President in our history did not get re elected. We can't blame the President, he did all the right things. There is an on going question about voter fraud. The outcome of that remains up in the air.

I think Sen. Rand Paul came to the best conclusion:

Too many people voted.

As the Senator points out, if huge voter turnouts continue we Republicans will have trouble holding on to the Presidency, Congress and ultimately the courts. We cannot allow this convenient voting and intense interest in voting continue.

One of the culprits was mail in voting. When it is that easy to vote lots of people vote. When lots of people vote, we Republicans lose.

Maybe other good Republicans here at Landover Baptists have ideas about how to solve this problem. I have a few ideas.

1.) Absolutely no-mail in votes.
2.) Fewer polling places, longer distances for voters to travel.
3.) Change polling places every year.
4.) Discuss various dates for the election.

Back in the day, white people in the South had this figured out. They had tests for black people, recite the Constitution, name all the states, etc. These were reasonable but people complained. Maybe we could work out something like what segregationists did back then.

These all look like perfectly splendid ideas in principle, Brother Mr Mayor, Sir! My only comment would be that perhaps the first one needs a rider - if that is the word I mean?

1.) Absolutely no-mail in votes, except in the case of LBC True Christians™ serving the Church, its pastors and Our Beloved Lord in ghastly foreign parts.
Leaving aside my husband's personal interest in this, it would be worrying if, for example, Pastor Zeke happened to be away on one of his missions to the ornamentals, or if Sister Basilissa were on some Mexican fund-raising trip. And several of our Brethren - Real Americans to a manly man  - are in the frozen wastes of northern Europe.

We certainly do Mr. Mayor. There's nothing I want to see more than Lady Justice discreetly putting a thumb on the scale to ensure the right outcome. Reappointing Mitch McConnell so he can refuse to table legislation for the next 4 years is at stake. Eyes on the prize.

5.) Notarized letters to testify voters are up to date on bills (the Good Citizen clause - waived for home owners)

That is a good addition, Dr. Toole. In a past time one needed to be a property owner to vote on matters that involved the U.S. property tax. We could visit that issue again.

Since now most issues involve income tax, why not require a tax statement showing the voter had enough income to pay some income tax. That seems fair.

It's a low bar, Mr. Mayor, which I'm concerned will invite fraud. I would prefer to see documentation of capital gains to show an investment in America's future. Look, voting is an arcane tradition that old people do every 4 years if they fill out a lot of forms. They yell a lot, stand in line then nothing ever changes. It's uncool and boring. Why would any young person bother with it?

And perhaps an accountant's bill to indicate that they had not paid more than absolutely necessary?
