Where I live, the local Equestrian centre does "riding for the disabled", now I'm not trying to sound mean, but these people get it for free, there are deserving local children who would love to learn about horses and riding, but these retarded people get there first. It's not fair and they don't pay actually. Mr. Huthcins is perfectly correct in what he says. They don't pay and do get benefits.
Now in my mind that is wrong, the able bodied children are being ignored for disabled, that's political correctness going nuts.:(

You say most of them, yet you only knew a small select few. That's a rather blanketing statement you're making. In addition, it's not just disabled people that are able to cheat the system, there are plenty of able bodied people that do that too.

While I completely see your point, it's not the fault of the dissabled people. Personally I have problems with the mother and baby parking spots at supermarkets, why do they need to have the best parking spaces? That's totally off topic I know, but never mind.

I can, I had to pay for all my riding lessons. On the other hand, other than that hour on a horse, I lead a normal life the rest of the time, they can't, so maybe it's not so unfair after all.

You miss the point, the life these 'special people' live, is normal for them, just not normal for us. As a brit, you have things you do that might be considered hideous to an American and vice versa. Should special needs be met because we are different? Is one group incompetent and incapable?

Right I feel I must say this. I feel no pity or sadness for these people. I don't sit and think wow haven't they done well. If they want to do the special olympics thats up to them. But quite frankly I don't want to see it.
Why should we all think how special they are?. who raves about able bodied athletes?. They work just as hard . This is really bugging me tonight. Why all the coddling should be given is beyond me.

All I'm saying is that it's wrong of you to be so cruel towards a group of people who just have the misfortune to have problems, physical or mental, just because they have their own olympics. I wouldn't say it's normal for them however, I mean when they are surrounded by able bodied people how can it be normal?

Angels - I'm not wrapping these people up in cotton wool or anything like that, I'm sure they would be able to fight their own battle if one were here, I just don't see why so many people her are being so cruel and taking the piss out of them.
