Manly men with names like Lance, Rusty, Bruce and Lenny would smith with metal and discard the extra pieces into the fagot pile. And no one batted an eyelash.


Speaking of fags, a man used to put a fag in his mouth and no one accused him of being a degenerate. Before big government got involved and decided cigarettes are bad for you, my granddaddy would have a fag or two after dinner.


The faggot is also a lovely double reed instrument people blow on, that tells you when someone fat is around in comedies. Now, we can't stand up and cheer, "I just love faggot play!" without some sodomite taking that as a come on.


On the term gay, I have the Holy Spirit dwelling in me, therefore I am always gay. Before those perverts ruined a lovely word like gay, it used to be perfectly acceptable to walk around being gay. Now, if I say, "I'm gay," I have to be prepared for sodomy. It's not fair. I should be able to be gay without having to fear for my behind.

I'm on board with you here Brother Levi. The faggot is a notoriously difficult double reed instrument to play properly - requiring extraordinary skills in the embouchure (lips, jaw, tongue, and mouth) to play. While the word "faggotist" is probably lost in the present morass of political correctness from the LIEberals, it was probably once proudly used like the terms "flautist" and "flutist" are still used today to describe a flute player.

Certainly we have clear evidence that during Beethoven's time everyone used "faggot" without anyone whining with "offense", "triggering" demands that we give up our First Amendment rights, or seeking "safe zones" of infantile coddling from Obama's new socialist welfare state.

I remember when triangles were cool, you could wear the color purple, and you could walk down the streets in Des Moines and drop your sunglasses and not worry about getting picked up by some homer.

I do value my sewing machine and in addition to modern overlockers still use the antique model I learned on. It was far from new then but seems never to wear out!

How unlike the language foisted on us by liberal do-gooders seeking to undermine society. One thing I've noticed.–.and I'm sure others have too.–.is that when an old style comes back, from the 1940's say, a pattern will use quite different fabric or alternatively the same fabric will come back but used for a different garment. As a result I follow the old adverts and keep my eye on fabric warehouses. Some of the modern fabrics are exciting, especially the pigments used for dyes and older established warehouses still have rolls of prints from past decades in good condition. Woven, self-patterned fabrics tend to be more durable but I'm going off on a tangent here.

How would the liberal social-harpoonist interpret that illustration? To what cohort of the LGBTQIZP agenda would these innocents be assigned? White Lightning is marketed as a spa recruitment tool for vile affections and can we even imagine what unseemly lusts co-opt the sobriquets Merry Two Piecer or Rayon Seersucker.? The more language degenerates this way the more we need to be vigilant and take back the words which have been stolen.

One way to get an authentic embroidery effect for your retro garment is to use the old sewing machine attachments. They work just as well on a modern machine (which typically moves the needle rather than the fabric) just check the sewing foot for suitable attachment points and with some of the vibrant embroidery yarns available today I'm sure you'll run up something pretty zingy in no time. And don't be afraid to call it what it is. Rayon is a lovely material and seersucker one of my favourites.
