Alabama Mom perscuted by statist regulations

Red-tape claims another victim. The statists are making it illegal to be a parent!

ALBERTVILLE, AL - A Marshall County woman is in the city jail here for having her 13-year-old daughter ride in a cardboard box atop her van.

Albertville Police spokesman Sgt. Jamie Smith said Jackie Denise Knott, 37, of Albertville was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Smith said the child was turned over to a relative. Smith said police received a call Sunday morning of a minivan traveling on U.S. 431 with a large cardboard box on top with a child inside.

Officers stopped the van on U.S. 431 and asked Knott why the child was riding atop her vehicle. "The box was too big to go inside the van, and she would be able to hold it down if she was inside the box," Smith said the woman told police. When asked about the child's safety, Smith said Knott told the officers that she had the box secured to the van with a clothes hanger.

The slobbering control freaks won't be happy unless they stick their finger into everything now, will they? Look mister Islamo-Fascists policeman; put down Das Kapital, take off the Che T-shirt and look at this logically. The woman is clearly a good person (Christian, white, American), she says her child is safe her child is SAFE. End of discussion.

Sweet loving Savior stories like these make me angry.

What choices did the loving mom have? Leave the daughter wherever while she took the box home and then come back for the daughter? A pie stealer (I will not name names) could come along and steal her. She had no choice. From the looks of the mom, I am sure the child had more than enough mass to safely hold the box in place. On top of all this, with gas prices the way they are, think of the expense of two trips when HSN is having a deal!

Big Atheist Government is probably cracking down on this because having 13-year-old white girls exercising their constitutional right to ride around in cardboard boxes as the Founding Fathers intended messes with the secularists' plans to introduce socialised 13-year-old-white girls. Disgusting.

I don't see what the crime is here. Obviously the woman would be driving very safely and obeying all traffic laws knowing her daughter was on top of the van. In fact, maybe if everyone had their children ride on top of their vehicles, our streets and highways would be much safer. That's something to think about.

The only time that this became dangerous was when the police stopped the van; it stands to reason that both box and van were travelling at the same speed and the coat hanger (a very secure piece of equipment designed to counter gravity) would only be put to the test when the police swerved in front of the van and slammed on their brakes, thus recklessly endangering a happy child.

No more wire hangers . . . EVER!

Whatever happened to American parents who loved their children enough to discipline them properly? :(

One small concern, I generally associate riding in cardboard boxes with male children, not the females.

Would this mother be risking an induced case of Lezbeanism by placing the girl in the box ??

I hate to disagree with you all but riding on the roof of a car is dangerous and irresponsible on the part of the mother. Now I'm usually one to point the blame square on the person or people involved in these types of incidents, and this time is no different. It's obvious that the real culprit in this crime is Hollywood. For years Hollywood has been making the act of riding on a car's roof, or "car surfing," look hip and/or cool. Just look at these Hollywood movies that make the act of car surfing look glamorous to young people all over the world that aren't old enough to make decisions on their own:

Teen Wolf:

The Beverly Hillbillies:

What Hollywood doesn't show are the consequences of car surfing: Michael J. Fox now has Parkinson's and where is the cast of The Beverly Hillbillies? All dead. You may think car surfing is just some harmless thing you and your friends can do for kicks, but the next time you think about getting up on the roof of a car and "hanging ten" remember this:

I personally don't see anything wrong with riding in a box on top of a minivan. It's no different than riding in a convertible. What the problem here is the nanny state trying to tell everyone how to live. We here at Landover will warn people that they are going to hell when they don't obey the Bible (KJV1611), but we don't take away their children and write them tickets. If the police didn't like what she was doing they could have gotten on their bullhorn and warned the woman.

There is nothing wrong with wire hangars. The Hollywood elite have lots of disposable income to buy $300 dollar dresses for their children but I've never seen one at Walmart.
