Day 174. Psalm 96-100

Psalm 96-100

Psalm 96

1 O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth.

God loves being sang to, he especially loves four-part harmony and barbershop.

3 Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.

See, one can't really declare among the righteous, they already know. But we are COMMANDED to go out and tell the worthless how great God is.

4 For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.

AND Greatly to be Praised!

5 For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.

If your god isn't God, it's an idol. For example; the hindus, the muslims, the wiccans, the satanists... the list goes on. They are all crap. There is only 1 way to heaven, all the rest are poop. I cannot, and WILL NOT tolerate the "religious beliefs" of those that are going to hell. I might as well respect the religious beliefs of people who think Eric Clapton is God.

9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.

Fear is the foundation of worship for the LORD. Where does happiness fit in?

13 Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

God will judge you, are you guilty?

Psalm 97

1 The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.

I wonder what isles they are talking about. There really aren't any islands around Israel, nor any in the Dead Sea. It's just odd. Perhaps they are talking about Tarshish, but then, we don't know where that is either.

3 A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.

God KICKS ASS!!!

7 Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.

Like that big rock in Mecca. Like the pillars of satan... like... oh, the list goes on of idols.

10 Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

Love the sinner; hate the sin? Hell NO, I cannot differentiate between sin and a sinner. What do you call a person who robs? What do you call a person who murders? What do you call a person who lies? So why is it any different to call someone who sins something other than a sinner?

Psalm 98

1 O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.

You really don't want to know how much ass He would kick if He used both of his holy arms! God kicks more ass with one arm tied behind his back, than all other gods combined!

4 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

Or he will hurt you.

9 Before the LORD; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.

That's a recurring theme today. You will be judged.

Psalm 99

3 Let them praise thy great and terrible name; for it is holy.

Remember, names have power. God's is great and is terrible (causing terror); additionally, it is holy.

5 Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.

God is holy, fyi.

9 Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.

Granted, God is holy. And he requires worship, for some reason.

Psalm 100

1 Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.

Still, continually, keep it going.

3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

We are God's sheep. Had the Hebrews come from a lumberjack society, we would be his trees. Had they been a fishing society, we'd be fish... oh wait, that's the New Testament (I'm getting ahead of myself). Now, remember, we are His sheep, because He's the great shepherd, not because it was the Age of Aries (the ram) and not because the current age is the age of Pisces.

5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.

Even unto the end of the age of Pisces, and the beginning of the Age of Aquarius.

So what have we learned today?

1. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD.

2. God is Holy.

3. God will judge.

And what a strong, sobering theme it is too, Brother V. Every unsaved pest infesting these forums ought to take it seriously.

4. God has a terrible name. How come liberal false Christians always tell us that God is Love, but they never mention the fact that God is Terrible?
