Day 348: Hebrews 1-3

After the exciting world of the Pauline Epistles we enter the inspired realm of the Hebrews. Many agnostic scholars with their Biblical "commentaries" (= vile interpretation) raise a lot of havoc trying to discuss the "authorship" of this magnificent oeuvre. Some claim it was Paul, others suggest an unknown author. They are all mistaken (even those who say Paul wrote it). The only thing that matter is that JESUS dictated this Epistle to the Jews who were about to accept Him as the True™ Savior and warned them against many issues that still plague false Christians. After this brief introduction we're ready to start admiring the wonderful message of Hebrews 1.

In addition to the Gospel of John, Hebrews is one of the main sources about the Divine nature of Jesus Christ. The Epistle begins with the reaffirmation of this timeless Truth™:

Hebrews 1:3
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

We also learn that we are living during the Last Days of Earth! Jesus will soon return. This was clear to those living in ancient times, it is clear to us, as well!

Hebrews 1:2
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Before Jesus, God spoke through burning bushes and Prophets. When Jesus came He spoke directly to everyone. Still, there are lesser beings around that also convey us supernatural messages. We must all the time remember that Jesus is greater than these entities. Listening to them leads to idolatry and séances and Ouija boards, so, beware!

Hebrews 1:7-8
And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

In fact, Jesus commands the angels.

Hebrews 1:14
Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

Confused? You won't be after the next episode of Hebrews, Chapter 2! We learn, once again, that if we ignore Jesus (examples of this, in order of repulsiveness, are Catholics, Jews, Buddhists, pagans, Muslims, Lutherans, Darwinists, Methodists, Scientologists, Mormons, Russian Orthodox, Coptics, Hindus, Tao worshipers, Parsians, Persians, Prussians, Social Democrats, The Swedish, etc.), we have no hope whatsoever.

Hebrews 2:3
How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

In fact, it would be stupid not to believe, as many people have seen many miracles by God!

Hebrews 2:4
God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?

Next, we assess the issue of the nature of Jesus Christ. In fact, it is only simple logic that if someone was to Redeem True Believers™ of their sins, it would have to be a supernatural entity as sin is also supernatural, while it affects the natural man. And as it affects the natural man, it had to be a natural man to Redeem us, while this man had to be a supernatural man, also. Thus, we needed Jesus. A simple decision by the omnipotent God (Revelation 19:6) would have been of course possible but it would have neglected this beautiful logic.

Hebrews 2:13-14
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

It is the fact that Jesus suffered and felt the temptations of the flesh, that God as an omniscient being (Proverbs 15:3) came to know how it feels to feel tempted by the flesh.

Hebrews 2:18
For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

As we turn the page and encounterChapter 3, we see how Jesus is compared to a much lesser person, Moses. This is an important passage, as is should tell every Jew that their religion is false and Christianity™ is right.

Hebrews 3:3
For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.

Because of this, it is unfathomable and very dangerous not to believe in Jesus Christ!

Hebrews 3:12-13
Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

If you disobey, God will not let you enter the Promised Land. He did this with Moses, He will do the same to you regarding Heaven. you must Believe AND you must Obey.

Hebrews 3:18-19
And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
