Men's Fellowship Breakfast & Bible Study

1 Attachment(s)
The Landover Men's Fellowship Breakfast & Bible Study meets the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of a month at 7:30am for breakfast, Bible study, a time of prayer, and fellowship with other men. Currently, we are reading the book "The Man God Uses". If you are going to join, please bring your copy, or you can read along with one of the other members.

The gatherings are open to church members and the community at large. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming; the perfect place to invite a friend for great fellowship. The Landover cafeteria is light and spacious, and the food is great.

In addition to breakfast, the Men's Fellowship will often invite guests to share stories of faith or ministry that will inform and inspire those in attendance. This fellowship group also provides the food and shares in the labor for our annual LBC Youth Car Wash and Bar-b-que; one of the not-to-miss activities of the year.

This week we have a special guest!

Featured Speaker: Neal Jeffrey,
former star
QB for Baylor University

Tickets=$5 and are on sale in the Atrium on Sunday mornings or through the church office during the week. Help support the youth car wash!!

Mr. Neal Jeffrey was born in Ft. Worth, and attended high school in Overland Park, Kansas. His outstanding athletic ability earned him many awards and eventually he was recruited to play football at Baylor University. While at Baylor, he was the starting quarterback and was chosen as the Sports Illustrated National Back of the Week, the Outstanding Collegiate Athlete of America and led the Bears to a Southwest Conference Championship. Upon graduation from college, Neal landed a spot with the San Diego Chargers. He played professional football for three years and then entered Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he obtained his Masters of Divinity. Neal currently works fulltime as an Associate Pastor at Prestonwood Baptist Church.
Men get your tickets or better yet, why not sponsor an entire table and invite your buddies!

The breakfast and bible study events are a big hit. Everyone always loves some pancakes, especially with some real maple syrup. Even the young boys learn to love coming to these parties. The pancakes we make here are at least as good as the ones you get at home. Some days we even offer chocolate chip pancakes, especially to placate the little ones.

I encourage all available men to participate next week! What a great way to start your morning!

I'm thinking that I might drop by sometime, Brother Nobar. I might even be persuaded to say a few words to the guys, if you served up a stack of those delicious blueberry pancakes that I like so well.

I would tell you why you like those pancakes but then again that would contradict your beliefs. Oh the irony.

The chef on our left, the guy with the backwards hat and beard, looks a little suspicious to me. I feel he just doesn't belong. ;)

And why would I be interested in a chinee spin on God's Holy Word?

That would be Brother Nobar. All the brothers lend a hand at flipping the flapjacks at these events. Are you trying to imply something?

And speaking of not belonging....I'm afraid we can't invite you to our Christian Men's Fellowship Breakfast & Bible study, Hop-sing. For several reasons.

How I wish I could be there, but alas, God has called me to this communist hell-hole. Perhaps I could organize a Men's Prayer breakfast here in Russia to occur at the same time you meet and we could simulcast. Don't think that just because I'm old means that I'm behind the times. I know all about the Satanic rap music and the MTV and frankly I think it's jsut disgusting. Why doesn't that whore Brittany Spears save herself the time and money and go straight into the hard-core pornography. Can I get an "amen"?

P.S. It's good to see True Christian™ men like Brother Nobar actively participating in their church. Praise!

AMEN, Brother!!

I'm surprised to hear that they have such things as breakfast over there in Godless Russia. What do they have, vodka and potatoes?

That would be great, Pastor Ezekiel. I'm sure if you planned a visit we would be able to pick up a few more members. Blueberry season is at its peak in late summer, but they are available most days at the store (I don't know how they do it).

Please check your schedule and let me know when it would be convenient for you to stop by. Since breakfast is right before morning services, it might be convenient for you to stop by at the end. Unless you have issues giving sermons on a full stomach.

I prefer a breakfast of the True Christian™ approved Providence Charms™

but the little commies over here insist on eating such things as sausage and grenki...whatever that is...

That's cute, but this isn't the "cereal Jesus likes" thread. We have pancakes here for breakfast, like good Americans.

Maybe your favorite cereal would be good here. Jesus needs the help.

Easter Pancake Breakfast - Come enjoy an Easter Sunday breakfast being served from 8 a.m. - noon on Sunday, March 23rd. This superb pancake & sausage breakfast will be cooked and served by our LBC volunteer chefs and missions team members. Donations will be gratefully accepted for the June 2008 missions outreach to Australia! Fried apples and flaky biscuits will be available again this year due to popular demand.

All Church members are invited to bring their families to this fantastic event. Please RSVP if you plan to attend, so we know how many tables to set up.

I think I know now why pastor Ezekiel was absent on Easter Sunday.

That may have been a coincidence though Brother. :(

Friends, I have been experimenting with new features of the forum software and I created a group for the Men's fellowship breakfast meetings. You can visit the group here to view the group, or click this link to go directly to the invitation. There are some advantages to being a member of this group, as you get advance notice of the speakers' schedule and automatic admission to our events.

Here's an image of me churning butter for the biscuits for today's breakfast. Due to the fine weather there was a good turnout. I missed some of the meeting because I was busy in the kitchen, but that's OK. Everyone seemed to have a good time.

I tried to make a Jesus on the cross pancake, but it looks more like an airplane.

Doesn't everyone have a favorite hat?
