Another closet homo necktie party:

Did you hear about this story today? Do you realistically think that a straight kid would kill himself because his friends called him a homer? That happens to almost everybody, and everyone isn't killing himself.

Hundreds of mourners turn out for funeral of Carl Walker-Hoover of Springfield

SPRINGFIELD - By the end of Carl J. Walker-Hoover's funeral Monday, the pastor's voice was thundering through Alden Baptist Church.

"The name calling must stop; the bullying must stop," said the Rev. Hugh A. Bair, to applause from the overflow crowd. We need to do better."

Eleven years after baptizing Walker-Hoover in Springfield, Bair delivered his eulogy before several hundred people, including some wearing T-shirts with the sixth grader's picture. The service came just a week after Walker-Hoover hung himself after complaining of bullying by classmates at the New Leadership Charter School.

Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover, 11, seen in this undated family photo, would have turned 12 on Friday.
Several speakers, including Bair and Clifford Flint of the Black Men of Greater Springfield, took the pulpit to denounce bullying and appeal for respect and civility in city schools and the community.

But the 2½-hour service was also celebration of Walker-Hoover's life. As his parents and three siblings sat in the front pews, one speaker after another recalled Walker-Hoover as an avid reader, a talented athlete and reliable friend who looked out for his younger brother and kissed his grandmother before going to sleep each night.

On the altar, a collage stood to the side of Walker-Hoover's coffin, with snapshots of him swimming, rollerblading, playing soccer and football; on the other side was the red-spangled drum set that he played at home.

It was Walker-Hoover's enthusiasm for life that made his suicide all the more unthinkable, Springfield College student Christine Brayfield told the congregation. Explaining that she taught him in an enrichment program last summer, Brayfield said Walker-Hoover's energy and curiosity stood out in the 40-member class. After recalling his zest for hiking, swimming, rollerblading and posing for photographs, Brayfield said her best memory was Walker-Hoover singing along to the Rihanna song "Umbrella" in the back seat of the class's 15-seat van. "To this day, I can still see him in the rear view mirror," Brayfield said.

His mother, Sirdeaner L. Walker; sisters, Dominique and Gloria; brother, Charles; and other family members filled up the front rows of the church. Also attending was his father, Benjamin C. Hoover Jr., who came from Maryland with his father, Benjamin.

During his eulogy, Bair - the former pastor at the Springfield Church of God, and now a pastor in Baltimore - urged the family to find solace in their faith, especially as she ponders the question "why do bad things happen to good people."

Walker, the director of homeless services at the Massachusetts Career Development Institute, found her son hanging by an extension cord upstairs at their 124 Northampton Ave. home April 6. His mother said he suffered taunts and threats from other students who made fun of him, insulted the way he dressed and called him gay since he began attending in September, Walker said.

Outside the church Monday, Dominic T. Gray said he knew Walker-Hoover was having trouble with other students, but never suspected he was suicidal. "It's hard; it's real hard," Gray said, shaking his head. Along with a few dozen other students, he was wearing a T-shirt with Walker-Hoover's picture on it.

Ending the service, Bair said that Walker-Hoover's death should also be a call to action. "Our prayers are that this crisis will make Springfield a better community," he said.

Oh the liberal left! They never cease to amaze me. :glare:

What do they mean "The name calling must stop?" Name calling is an American tradition! It makes a man out of you! :bb:

I agree with Nobar King, he was definitely a homer. There were several proofs of his “lifestyle” in the article:

They don't. God wouldn't allow it. Bad things happen to bad people -- clearly there was something evil going on in that boy's house and someone had to pay.

Oh shucks, I thought you were talking about these kind of neckties and was stopping by to give fashion advice.

P/s: That boy did his parents a favor. Can you imagine the shame they would have had knowing their son was a gay!?!

Good point Captain. Soccer is an indication of a girly boy to effeminate to have the arm strength to carry the ball properly as done in football. It is well known Adolph Hitler was a soccer fan.

So bad little Carl couldn't suck these gay taunting like a man and stiffen his act up. No, he took the easy way out and wrapped an electrical cord around his neck. It wasn't just his body that was weak.

Honestly I don't know why this story even made the news. Just because it's a nigra boy I guess. Maybe it was a relative of Obama's. :glare:

I do missionary work over in the Orient, and those kids kill themselves right and left. They call it "commie-kazie" and no one cares. They don't even notice.

Are you all serious?! This is a tragic thing that happened. God loves and created everyone and everything- gay or not. If you really wanted to follow him, you would love everyone despite how they choose to live. You are essentially saying that you would be ashamed of yourselves and want your own flesh and blood because he is gay? That is EXTREMELY horrible and judgmental.

Can you back that up with some scripture?

That, sir, is a complete an utter lie! How dare you lie about what God thinks when it is before you in the Holy Bible (KJV1611)

You are at it again! Immediately after I told you you were wrong, you repeat the lie! Are you of Satan? A Christ-denier? Give me Scripture to back up your vile deceit or apologize!

..and your point is?

It is neither judgmental nor horrible - it is a biblical fact. Fags are an abomination unto The Lord. Did Jesus ever heal a gay? NO! Now, are you now calling God a liar?
