Day 34 Leviticus 13-15

Leviticus 13-15

Today we get:
  • Leprosy and scall
  • Issues and seed shooting
  • Women's issues

Leviticus 13

As leprosy isn't very prevalent these days, we don't really need an in depth study of this chapter.

At the time though, it was important enough that some of the original 613 laws dealt with leprosy. Just know this, if you get leprosy, you need to:

45 And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean.

Rip your clothes, shave your head, cover your upper lip and walk around yelling "unclean unclean!" Oh, and you are kicked out of camp until it goes away.

Leviticus 14.

More leprosy...

Apparently houses can get leprosy too. (Lev. 14:35)

Leviticus 15

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When any man hath a running issue out of his flesh, because of his issue he is unclean.

If you are bleeding, or oozing, you are unclean!

Whilst oozing, what ever you touch becomes unclean. If anyone touches you, they are unclean until they wash their clothes, take a bath, and wait until the sun goes down.

If an unclean person spits on you, you are unclean. (Lev 15:8)

After you are done oozing, you need to wait 7 days, wash your clothes and take a bath, then you are clean.

Take 2 turtledoves or pigeons to the priest. One is a sin offering, one is a burnt offering.

16 And if any man's seed of copulation go out from him, then he shall wash all his flesh in water, and be unclean until the even.

If a man has sex, he needs to take a bath, and is unclean until the sun goes down.

18 The woman also with whom man shall lie with seed of copulation, they shall both bathe themselves in water, and be unclean until the even.

Note, if a man lies with another man, they get cleaned with stones... hehe.

19 And if a woman have an issue, and her issue in her flesh be blood, she shall be put apart seven days: and whosoever toucheth her shall be unclean until the even.

Why would anyone touch a woman who is having .. her... um... thingy?

Whatever touches her is unclean, whatever she sits on, sleeps on, those are all unclean.

24 And if any man lie with her at all, and her flowers be upon him, he shall be unclean seven days; and all the bed whereon he lieth shall be unclean.

EEEWWW!!!!

25 And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she shall be unclean.

If her period lasts longer than a week, she needs to stay separated. If that happens, when she's done.. um... bleeding, she needs to sacrifice two turtledoves or pigeons. One is a sin offering, the other a burnt offering. Because having a period for longer than a week is a sin!

31 Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them.

God hates those that defile His tabernacle. Remember, just yesterday he killed two of Aaron's sons for the wrong incense.

PRAISE JESUS!!!

So what have we learned:

1. Leprosy has a chapter and a half dedicated to it, it must have been very important. There is more information in the Bible (KJV1611) on dealing with leprosy, than there is on baptism.
2. Oozing is a sin!
3. Don't touch a woman on her period.
4. Don't have sex with a woman on her period.

I wonder if lepers go to Heaven all at once, never, or a little at a time? I don't suppose you can be in Heaven if you are missing bits, so I suppose they don't go at all.

If a person died while actively having leprosy, they would be unclean at that time, and still bearing their inequity. Therefore, I would think, they would have to go to hell.

Can houses get the AIDS as well? It seems plausible, but thus far, I've not been able to find any definitive answers one way or the other.

Obviously, every word of Scripture is of God and should never be criticised in any way...but still, I can't quite help thinking, God makes some really harsh demands of us, doesn't he? I mean, sometimes it seems like He just doesn't want us to have any fun at all.

Seeing as we True Christians™ are guided by the Holy Spirit and do not sin, does this mean that it's physically impossible for a Saved woman to have a period for longer than a week?

Re: Day 34 Leviticus 13-15

I'm getting a bit ahead here, but let's compare Lev 15:24 with Lev 20:18. Some smarty-pants atheist who thinks he has found a "contradiction" might ask (only in much cruder terms) what is the punishment for lying with a woman while she's having her monthly issue?

Lev 15:24 And if any man lie with her at all, and her flowers be upon him, he shall be unclean seven days; and all the bed whereon he lieth shall be unclean.
Lev 20:18 And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.

Lev 15:24 says that the man is unclean for seven days, whereas Lev 20:18 says that the man and the woman must be cast into exile. Is this a contradiction?

The short answer is, of course not, because God's Word is perfect. The longer answer is that these two verses are describing different sins. The first case is when it is accidental, and the couple didn't know she was having her issue until after the fact. The second case is when the couple knowingly did so while she was having her issue.

Brother V I cheated and read ahead. You are RIGHT!!! They would go to hell!

Jesus had make the leper clean so he could be saved.

Clean = Heaven :innocent: Unclean=HELL :evil_2:

Matthew 8
1 When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.
2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou
wilt, thou canst make me clean.
3 And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou
clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
4 And Jesus saith unto him, See thou tell no man; but go thy way, shew
thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a
testimony unto them.

Matthew 10
1 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power
against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of
sickness and all manner of disease.

7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely
ye have received, freely give.

GLORY!!!:innocent:
