It's unfortunate but we must face it. If peoples' hearing loss is so great they cannot hear the word of God their souls are lost for good.

Yes, there are groups called Christian made up of deaf people. They are not being honest, however, when they claim they know God. How can they know God when they have never had a conversation with Him?

The Bible tells us that in the beginning there was the word. And the word was God. Spoken words do not exist if no one hears them.

Indeed, the Lord God explicitly says that the aurally-retarded cannot hear His word, but that He will allow them to do so at a point in the future (Isaiah 29:18). Until that happens, they're screwed. God in His wisdom made them deaf in the first place (Exodus 4:11), so they clearly deserve whatever punishments they receive.

That blasphemous deaftard church in the article is obscene and offensive. Look at the way they throw up gang signs and flip the bird. Jesus hates them.

Romans 10:13-17
13 Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe

There are many foul spirits. They make people deaf or foaming at the mouth or dumb or throw them into convulsions and although it's often said that demons, evil spirits, devils and so on do not exist and therefore can't possess anyone for Christians that is not an option. Jesus told us that exactly these fiends DO possess the afflicted and ARE the cause of deafness. Whether there are other causes too is a moot point and not relevant here – partly because whatever the cause, God not only CAN heal but WILL heal if asked by a Christian. It follows then that ineffective prayer for healing (or exorcism) has not been offered by a Christian.

James 5:15-16b
15a The prayer of faith shall save the sick
15b And the Lord shall raise him up
15c And if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

16b That ye may be healed.

Deafness is identified by Christ as one symptom of demonic possession. He describes this one as a foul spirit – and remember He created the universe and everything in it so knows what's what. Let's face, if He didn't (for example if He was just regurgitating ignorant superstitions or the lies of snake-oil salesmen or making up nonsense just because it sounded good for His audience at the time) how could He heal the afflicted soul? In this case the foul spirit was deaf and dumb, caused foaming at the mouth and also convulsions. That's quite a foul repertoire by anyone's standards. I'm just considering the "deaf" aspect here but the others were also present. Obviously (being deaf) this wretch could NOT hear the good news about Christ Jesus (or anything else) UNTIL that devil was gone. Jesus knew that and Jesus acted.

Mark 9:23-27
23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe;

Satan does not want anyone to hear the message of Salvation. One ploy has been to make some people (fools, The Bible calls them) deny the reality of Scripture which in this case concerns the need to HEAR to appreciate that message and the FOUL SPIRITS at work to prevent that happening. By rejecting the reality of Christ's words concerning demonic activity, concerning the evil one himself, concerning the need for healing and the means of healing, the causes of deafness and convulsions and the need for Redemption—achieved by His blood running out onto the ground—what is left?

A Jesus who doesn't know what He's talking about, who panders to ludicrous superstitions when He could easily refute such ideas as He did for other topics when dealing with the Scribes and Pharisees, a Jesus who'd rather lie (about demons in this case) than enlighten, in which case how could He heal anyone or create anything? Was He lying about that too? The Jesus left after removing so much is indistinguishable from a Jesus who never existed at all.


But He did get rid of that foul spirit and the deaf could hear. If hearing were so unimportant as Scripture deniers would tell us there'd not be much point healing deaf people. They could just carry on as they always had until someone invented ear-trumpets. They might as well say there's no message of Salvation to hear. And many of them do say that, but that's a different type of demon at work.
