Re: The Sun: Millions of miles away? -

I may not be as educated as many a religious PhD doctor is but some things are just plain obvious
A half dollar is larger than a penny. The Earth is huge, the sun, a small dot in the sky, like a light bulb.
If the sun were millions of miles away, you'd never see it. Think of all the cars driving around at night. Do you see all the headlights? You only see those that are close to you. Logic (a science word) therefore states the sun too, must be close. Driving back from Vegas at night, I 'might' see a car lights 50 miles out. I have to figure the sun is more powerful than that, more like a stadium light. So an educated theory (more sciencey talk) is that the sun is 100 to 200 miles away.
Occams Razor states the simplest answer is usually the correct one. I put forth to anyone to be more simple.
God made things to be simple and comforting for us. He gives us light to work in and dark to sleep with.
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.
