It's even worse than stagnation. Decolonization, an event far bloodier and more brutal than anything the Nazis did, was encouraged by America.
The Europeans simply gave their empires away - we could have bought them for token prices, creating in a decade the greatest empire the world has ever seen, and in a generation total domination.
People's stated preference is for "
self determination blah blah blah". But to find people's true preference, look at the direction refugees and immigrants travel.
Would you rather live in New Mexico or actual Mexico? Alaska or Siberia? Puerto Rico or Haiti?
Detroit or Windsor? Hawaii or East Timor? Israel or anywhere else in the Middle East?
People want to join the American empire so badly we are building walls to keep them out. Some "
evil empire".
