Reading through the thread with a small night cap and after only 104 posts I was a little startled

so what do you think I did?
Yes, I turned to the KJV site immediately.
Next I went to I JOHN.
I JOHN 3 .KJV . look up .. CONTEXT
6– Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
7– Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8a He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning.
8b For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
9a Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sinWhy is that? God explains it for us. No guesswork required here!
9b For his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
It seems very straightforward. Christians
DO NOT sin because Christians
CANNOT sin. I've included the preamble for this text, verse 6, in which God tells us that we don't sin. Nothing about habituation or the practice of sinning. The post which startled me contained those
ADDED words in order to change the meaning. That is calling God a
LIAR because if He left out that word, how do we know He didn't leave out other words too? Words which, if included, alter the meaning? Words like "and God" say in verse 8?
He that committeth sin is of the devil and God; for the devil and God sinneth from the beginning.
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil and God.
Perhaps God mistakenly used the wrong word "seed" where "fungus" was actually intended? If God can get words mixed up anything is possible and from the context we should understand that "born of God" is wrong too. Just add the in new fungus themed words and it's all better..
For his fungus remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is off his head on toadstools.
In reality though it is
NEVER necessary to add extra words or pronounce where God made a mistake because, just like Christians, God is
PERFECT. He has given us a perfect book to read with perfect eyes. But what startled me more than anything was the entreaty to
READ IT!!! Which
I DID!! When people abandon Jesus and make up their own stuff you don't just get gibberish
(well, you do but in addition) YOU GET CORRUPTION.
